Dr. Christopher Downey, MD

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this doctor in the emergency room at HCA University. As someone who is not originally from the U.S., I struggled to pronounce a few medical terms correctly, and instead of being understanding, he chose to shame me for my accent. His behavior was dismissive and unprofessional, making an already stressful situation even worse. Additionally, he was incredibly rude and unwilling to listen to my concerns simply because I “didn’t seem to be in too much of an emergency” in his opinion. An emergency room doctor should provide care and compassion to all patients, regardless of their background or how severe their condition appears to them. I left feeling unheard and disrespected. I would absolutely not recommend Dr. Downey to anyone who expects basic courtesy and professionalism in their medical care.
