I was matched with Dr. Gorman via MDLive Telehealth services. I needed a perscription for a new-ish medication and explained my background. He was SO responsive and helpful. When I said I may need a prior authorization for this medication, him and his office were on it like the speed of light. I only WISH I lived closer to Richmond and could have him be my primary care. He is incredible. Extremely empathetic and very knowledgeable.

I want to respond to the "one star" First i am sorry you have any indication of skin cancer. I have had it for 10 years and have been seeing Dr Gorman for 6 years. You may have been really upset but giving one star is harsh This doctor in my and many other patient's opinion is gentle, caring, dedicated, knowledgeable, well trained (UVA) and would do nothing without your permission. He always asks during the procedure "are you okay" "are there any issues". He has super excellent needle skills extremely important in dermatology. He has now left private practice and went back to the VA medical center - lucky patients. I now have to find a new doctor which is going to be hard. Again i hope you are okay now. Dr Gorman if you read this you will be definitely missed. Maybe you will come back to private practice. It is obvious now how much you care about our veterans and their families.

A wonderful listener. A careful practitioner. We never feel rushed or hustled.I take issue with the bad review. He does not have the ability to diagnose immediately - they use pathologists. It took at least a few days to get the good news that I did not have a skin cancer. That person must be misremembering. The other bad review was about the technology at the practice? How does that have an impact on patient care? That is his primary focus: patient care.

I wish I could leave a positive review for Dr. Gorman, but I had an unpleasant experience. He examined a suspicious spot on my face and immediately injected it with a numbing agent and biopsied it without my permission. He then left the room and quickly came back and said it was precancerous and wanted to freeze it off on top of the biopsy wound. The biopsy left a red permanent scar on my forehead. No other dermatologist has done a biopsy. They've always been able to identify precancers without.

Would not recommend. Highly competent medical care from both Dr. Phieffer and Dr. Gorman; however, the practice is lightyears behind the times in administrative systems and infrastructure. There is no electronic charting system, still on paper. The practice contracts with an outside billing service that does not offer the most up-to-date technology. The practice failed to properly verify insurance eligibility which cost me a significant deductible.
