Excellent!
Dr Hughes is personable, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. I have several major diseases, yet he has been instrumental in stabilizing my pulmonary disease.

Satisfied Patient
I find it hard to believe the negative reviews for Dr. Hughes. I’ve been under his care for several years and have found him to be very thorough in his treatment of my COPD and always willing to spend the time to talk about my concerns and treatment.

You’re treated like assembly line
Do yourself a favor and find a different Dr. Dr Hugh’s is checked out, uncompassionate, and gets offended if you ask questions about your health. Especially When it comes to a Terminal disease. if you ask questions, and take more than five minutes of his time, you’re told to apologize to the next patients waiting in the office. Not to mention the horrible follow up not doing proper tests, that other doctors would recommend. If you do see this doctor, then get a second opinion. He does NOT care about his patients

Awful
Dr. Hughes is the worst Dr in his profession. He is rude, unprofessional , and has absolutely nothing to offer in assisting patients with pulmonary issues. I regret so badly that my father went to him. He was useless . I would NEVER refer him to anyone. Shame on him for being the Dr he is.

Horrible follow up, frequently cancels appointment
He seems good in office, if a bit distant. Doesn't offer up much in terms of treatment. Trying to get through on phone the last 3 years is horrible. Messaged not returned. Have to have my primary treat me when they won't get back to me. Currently been waiting 6 weeks trying to get new medicine approved. Each time I call office, no one knows who is doing the medical clearance. I think I get the process started and the next call have to start all over again. Now my heart is acting wonky cuz I've been in such pulmonary distress for so long. Cancelled and postponed appointments are typical for this doc. My March appointment finally happened in June, postponed twice. If you want a doctor and staff who follows up, look elsewhere. I'm terribly disappointed as I've been with this practice for 33 years, with two prior phenomenal docs, but time to move on with this one.

A most compassionate and caring professional. Dr. Hughes cared from my husband and did everything to improve his lung function. I have been a patient of Dr. Hughe's for many years and have always been treated with respect and kindness ... staff and physician.

Dr. Hughes is the most empathetic doctor I have ever had. Wonderful bedside manner. Talking clearly and slowly, his aim is to make sure the patient understands the message(s) he is delivering. Making superb eye contact, he patiently answers all questions. He's authentic and treats you as if you are his only patient. Naturally, he's highly competent in all aspects of Pulmonology--that goes without saying. If you're wondering, I am not related to him nor a friend. He's been my doctor for 30 years.

Since my former Pulmonologist was retiring soon I needed a new one pronto. Dr. Hughes was recommended by hospital staff and we were happy w/him from the get go. He was casual, interesting, and made me comfortable right away. He even grew up in the same area I did and attended Lakeview as well. In addition, he was very understanding of my condition (bronchitis) and was a great listener. He took time w/me to find out as much as possible. I never felt rushed or like "a number." Great guy!

I wouldn't recommend any of my family members to this Doctor or to any of the offices within this practice. The staff is awful and always rude. One of the most unprofessional doctors offices I have ever stepped foot in. Not to mention that Dr. Hughes wished death on a poor 85 year old woman. I've witnessed the staff screaming at patients. You can tell that they don't care.

Easy to talk to. He will make sure that you know what is going on and explain all of your options. Takes the time to listen to your concerns and answer any questions. We couldn't have asked for a better referral from our family doctor. Dr Hughes is AWESOME!
