Communication & Preventative Issues
1.Blows off patients unless they have more serious issues. 2. Looks annoyed when you ask him for ways to prevent basic issues, (like it’s below him to have to deal with your stupid concerns). Preventative medicine should be important. 3. Spends 4 min talking to you after he sends his NP in to gather the history. What did I pay $60 for? 4 min. No thanks. He didn’t even smile or say hello. 4. I have used him for years, but have decided to not see him anymore.

Dr Lyons have been wonderful. I suffer from ulcerative colitis which is very difficult to treat since no two patients respond the same. I know many people who suffer from UC and their GI treats it like a minor inconvenience. Dr Lyons understands how much this disease affects patients, how life changing it is and how frustrating it can be to find the right treatment. Anytime I have a setback he's there to find another treatment or remind me that I have to be patient with myself.

Dr. Lyons is a great doctor. He always takes time to have a conversation about my life and overall health, not just the medical condition. I have read several reviews from other patients who say that Dr. Lyons has saved their lives. Dr. Lyons has definitely improved my quality of life. Highly recommended!

Dr. Lyons was very helpful. Even though my first few tests did not show what was causing my pain, he continued to order tests to find an answer. This persistence helped us find a serious problem, but because we found it so early, it is able to be treated. Between office visits and tests, he kept in communication through the portal. This was very helpful and a great time saver. I appreciate that he took the time to communicate via the portal and phone and that he continued to look for answers.

Horrible Doctor. Worst bedside manner I have ever encountered. Something is just not quite right about him. Too many very odd things happened while under his care. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I have a rare autoimmune condition that puts me at high risk for a variety of cancers. It is very unlikely that he would ever have had another patient with this condition. Dr Lyons was a good listener who took my concerns seriously, read up on my problem, & did appropriate testing. When my insurance company (which was also not familiar with the condition) declined the recommended CT, he appealed the denial, thereby allowing me to get the CT. He went the extra mile and provided excellent care.

Disappointed in Midlothian, VA – Apr 29, 2016
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Lyons?
Dr. Lyons performed a successful biliary stint procedure on my elderly 89 year old Dad. Dr Lyons educated me to get my Dad discharged from a miserable nursing facility and return back to the comforts of his own home. Dr. Lyons took the time to call me (true professionalism) and give me instruction, adding to time with my Dad. Dad was surrounded by the family, friends and caregivers making him have the most compassionate setting possible. Thank you,Thank you. Dr. Lyons. Highly recommend.
