Dr. Christopher Northup, MD

He performed surgery on me and I’ve been completely satisfied with his care before, during and after surgery. I’ve had absolutely no problems or issues with my surgery. I know others who have had complications and issues after having the surgery by other surgeons. Again, I have had no problems even minor ones like nausea, vomiting or food intolerance during the early postop period since my surgery 2 years ago. He is a competent and caring surgeon—personable and relatable. I am sad he moved to a practice 2 states away but wish him well

I have had a great experience with Dr Northup and the rest of the staff. I have recommended him to several people. He is knowledgeable and has a great bedside manor.

I have been seeing Dr. Northup for almost 2 years now and I don't have anything negative to say about him or his staff. He is a wonderful doctor and surgeon, with a great bedside manner. Even if I gain a few pounds on a checkup, he is kind and understanding and helps you get back on track. It's nice to have a doctor who really cares about his patients. I would highly recommend his services if you want a doctor who understands and really cares about you.

I was comfortable there from Day 1. My progress through the program was great with his team. I have had no problems and highly recommend this office and Dr. Northup.

Dr. Northup went to do my Sleeve surgery in August of 2017 he was unable to do to a very large hernia. He however, repaired that and in October of 2017 I was able to successfully have the sleeve completed. He as well as his staff have been very supportive and provided any help or direction I needed especially since mine was a little bit more complicated. They have worked with me and continue to do so almost three years later, I am more than blessed and thankful to him and his staff. I was 45 yrs old and not able to do much at all, I am now almost 48 and am extremely active!! Thank you Dr. Northup, Diane, Anne and the entire staff you truly are caring and dedicated to your patients and their wellbeing!!

Dr. Northup did my weight loss surgery in June of 2019 and I couldn’t be happier with him and his amazing team! I have never been happier or healthier in my life! I have recommended friends to Dr. Northup who are now patients of his! Best decision I ever made!

This hospital is ridiculous! I had bariatric surgery here in 2013 and I’m now trying to get my records and it seems to be impossible! After I had my surgery the office started being NASTY to me to the point I stopped going. Now I can’t get anything pertaining to my records for a new dr who actually know what they are doing! DONT COME HERE! He was rude from the moment I had my surgery.

Dr Northup has been supportive, kind, and encouraging on my journey. I am 6 months out and have not had any complications. Thankful for his skill and kind heart.

At the "informational seminar" I attended, Dr. Northup was funny and friendly. I was impressed. Then I met him for my first visit. Dr. Northup's bedside manner is ATROCIOUS! I went to his office full of hope and excitement for my future. I left in tears. Instead of explaining things in a gentle, kind way he was brusque and almost angry. If he were my only choice as a bariatric doctor, I would GLADLY remain fat. Thank God there are other bariatric doctors where I live!

Dr Northup took over for my surgeon who was Dr. Siddiqui (my VSG surgery was on 11/9/15). I had my first appointment with Dr. Northup last week. I liked him and I will continue to see him. He took the time to listen to what I had to say and had good advice. I would recommend him to others.

Dr. Northrop was friendly but he seemed more interested in getting out of the room than talking with me. He also said I needed another visit even after I informed him that I had finished everything and was told previously that this was my last appointment before turning in paperwork to insurance. I understand if he was busy, but I felt very belittled. Changing to Kettering Health Center.

I had a very bad experience with Dr. Northrup and his staff. I would not recommend him nor Mercy Hospital to anyone. I wish that I had gone somewhere else. Dr. Northrup needs to take the time and really listen to his patient's.
