Excellent Surgeon
I've never had surgery before and he answered all my questions and concerns. I had the gastric bypass. Never made me feel dumb. Explained things to where they made since. And then after had to have my gall bladder removed and he did excellent on that. He's a great Doctor and surgeon. I recommend him to everyone!

After having a gastric bypass in mexico and having some complications 7 months post op Dr. Sanborn saved my life. I’m so grateful for everything him and his team has done for me. I’ve been asked to get a doctor closer to home but I REFUSE to do that Dr Sanborn is the BEST!

Gastric Sleeve Provider
Dr. Sanborn has been great. I’ve been seeing him for 2 years now debating surgery vs non-surgical options. He has supported me and provided me with education and a great experience throughout. I am officially post gastric sleeve and couldn’t be happier with my care.

Dr Sanborn is top notch. I’m two years post gastric bypass, and I feel like he truly saved my life. He’s invested in the success of his patients, and takes all the time needed to answer your questions. I had some post op complications (due to me not drinking and getting dehydrated). He met me in the ER in a Friday night at 9pm without complaint. He sat with me in the waiting room until an exam room was available. He had me examined, tested, and admitted within two hours at a busy trauma center that was on shutdown due to a major accident. I can’t say enough good things about this man. He’s truly a wonderful doctor.

Doctor Sanborn is a great doctor. Very nice and knowledgeable. He did my gastric bypass surgery and did a great job. Aimee and Rachel are also great. The front office staff needs work. It took forever to get my records straight. They would say they had everything and then they didn't. But they finally got it straightened out.

If cost is your concern, it's $12,500. Blue Cross/Blue Shield of TN will not cover it for any reason. Crazy right! Once in the process call them regularly to check on the process. If you don't, you might not hear from them for a while but the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Dr Sanborn has a good bedside manner and is respectful of his patients. He's an excellent surgeon & if you follow instructions, will likely do great. Do it. It's worth it. I'm 1 week post & doing great.

If the rating was just on Dr Sanborn or Aimee, it would be a 5. They are the only reason it's not a 1. I am sick to death of the lack of follow through, disconnectedness, and overall lack of efficient organization of office staff. Worst I've ever dealt with anywhere in Chattanooga. I will run out of space before I could get all the details of their ineptitude down here. They can contact me and I will give specifics. Basically, they made an jalready stressful life event much more frustrating.

Dr Sanborn is an amazing and caring physician. His nurses are knowledgeable and kind. However , I have not had positive experiences with his FRONT OFFICE staff. They are in desperate need of some sensitivity training as well as attit ideal awarness.my attempts to reach the nurse were met with "I need to take a message and have her call you" . After 3 phone calls and no response I knew something was wrong and felt my messages weren't reaching the nurse. I was correct.

I love Dr. Sanborn and he did an excellent job with my Surgery. I wish I could say the same for his staff. I called 7 times over a 2 week time to speak with one staff member and never got a call back. I questioned his office manager as to whether this would still be a problem postop and she insured me that somebody else would be handling the nursing calls. I almost cancelled my Surgery due to this but I'm happy that I went forward with it.

Have had a few consults with Dr. Sanborn . He is very kind and listens to your issues. I have not had the actual surgery yet as I am having second thoughts due to the office staff. His nurse does not call you back without calling multiple times if at all. I am still considering having surgery with this doctor because it concerns me if I have any issues after surgery I will continue to get the same lack of service not from him but the staff.
