Dr. Cindy Nguyen, MD

Your primary is supposed to make things easy for you and be on your team, on your side. Time and time again, this doctor makes things hard and complicated for no reason. My doctor who left- who ran the entire department- never did things this way. Would be a good doctor if you just need to check-in once a year. Otherwise, not a good choice.

I don't normally leave reviews but I've just been so appreciative of Dr. Nguyen's patience and care of me recently. I've had a few medical scares from COVID to other infections, and each time I had a question, Dr. Nguyen took the time to answer with care and recs on what to do. I felt like she really cared. If only I found her sooner.

Best doctor ever. She helped change my lifestyle around to be healthier.

Dr. Nguyen is the most caring, most real doctor I've ever met. She listened to my problems on anxiety and stress and then recommended wonderful lifestyle options like yoga, regular exercise and more. Dr. Nguyen has by far been the most attentive doctor I have encountered at UCLA or elsewhere. Last year I had a baby and she was able to catch a particular postpartum complication even before the OBs. Since, she has been very responsive and timely with any concerns. Brilliant doctor and above average bedside manner. Excellent care all around and I would recommend.

Dr Nguyen is a compassionate, caring doctor and a great listener. You can tell she loves her job by the way she genuinely cares for her patients. Anytime I have any concerns, she will spend her time to diagnose and explain her treatment to me. She’s also prompt at responding to messages. I can’t recommend her enough and I’m so glad I found her as my physician.

Dr. Nguyen is brilliant. I had suffered from a particular medical issue for years. Many doctors misdiagnosed me or straight up gaslighted me about the severity of my symptoms. Dr. Nguyen listened to me, talked to me clearly about what she thought might be going on and worked with me to find my issue and treat it. My life is so much better now without the pain and frustration I had to deal with before she helped me get better. Thanks Dr. Nguyen for listening to me and getting me right!!!!

I lost my primary care after she went on leave. This doctor was not as open to collaborating on treatment plan as precious doctor. Also, when she’s not in office the doctors who cover are terrible. It’s disappointing to feel you don’t Have someone in your corner- especially when that person is your doctor.

I had a lot of questions and Dr. Nguyen listened to everything I said without interrupting and took my concerns seriously. She sent referrals for everything I would need to follow up with a specialist on and helped guide me toward solutions. Seeing a new doctor can be tough but Dr. Nguyen was great and helped me feel at ease and that we are on our way to solutions to my problems. Glad I found her.

I threw in the towel with this doctor. Does she want me to change my genetics? I have rare genetic diseases that are awful to walk through life with abs the only thing worse is a doctor that does not support you and sends you to urgent care and er… code for I don’t want to deal with you… won’t even order labs to see what is going on. Find a doctor who believes you deserve a quality of life and isn’t just interested in billing for the visit and then abandoning the patient. What happened to advocating for the patient? Shame shame!!

I am so happy that I found Dr. Nguyen. She is a specialist in the women's health center, and is very knowledgeable about these issues. She has a great bedside manner, and is extremely responsive to any questions I have.

I was really anxious about a health problem I’d been having and I was worried it was a parasite. She told me I “read too much into things” and that “we can’t always have an answer” for everything. She said she has patients that are in tremendous pain all the time and there’s no explanation. I started crying and said they are probably frustrated, then. She then suggested I find a new doc. A few weeks later I had to go urgent care for the ongoing problem. The urgent care doctor was very nice (so is my new PCP at UCLA, so it’s not a system-wide issue) and immediately tested me for a stomach bacteria called H Pylori. The results were positive; it was easy to treat with antibiotics and my health has been great since I found a doctor who was interested in helping instead of dismissing the concerns of her patients as hypochondria and whining (which was harmful to not just my physical health, but my mental health as well).

Dr. Nguyen is a great doctor for us! Knowledgeable and skilled, respectful, friendly and considerate. She listens to us and works with our preferences and priorities. Very glad to have found her.

We moved to Los Angeles awhile ago and were assigned Dr. Nguyen randomly. We're glad it happened. She is energetic and attentive and always cares: a smart young doctor with excellent communication skills. Also responds to email quickly and helpfully. Her heart seems to be really in this job.
