Dr. Claire Hiles, MD

Dr. Hiles was my mother's oncologist for 4-1/2 years. Diagnosed initially with Stage III+ ovarian/Fallopian tube cancer, my mother was given a prognosis of 6 months to live without chemo and 12 months with chemo by the surgeon who initially operated on her. Dr. Hiles fairly quickly replaced chemo with various immunotherapy treatments which were much more successful in managing my mother's cancer. Dr. Hiles is that rare doctor who combines a deep knowledge of available treatments with a passion for keeping up with the latest treatments that could be a better fit. She explains complicated medical subjects well and is a compassionate, caring human being. Her outstanding medical and interpersonal skills helped enable my mother survive until the age of 96, 4 years longer than the most optimistic prognosis given to her by her initial oncological surgeon.
