Missed MEN-1 diagnosis
I was a patient of Dr. Reidy’s for close to six years. In this time, I had upwards of 30 visits with her. Quite possibly closer to 50. During these visits, I reported ad nauseam, my complete inability to function, even close to normally. I reported significant bone pain, abdominal pain, and distress, lack of menses, with abnormal lactation. A pituitary tumor, with migraines, severe skin issues, nausea, sweating, tachycardia, and intense weakness, and exhaustion (hypersomnia). All indicators of endocrine system dysfunction. Dr. Reidy incredulously states in her notes that my symptoms were somatic. That the best treatment would be psychiatry/mental health treatment. What Dr. Reidy missed was that all along I was suffering from the serious genetic illness of Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 1. Diagnosed soon after by the head of OHSU, endocrinology. The average lifespan is appx 46-52. I’m near 48, now. I also have the closely related Cushings disease.

Dr. Reidy is fabulous. She takes her time, truly listens to my concerns, and makes me feel like an active part of my treatment plan. I don't think there is any such thing as a "dumb question" with her and when I leave her office I feel well informed and like I have someone working on my side who cares.

Went to her as a new patient, my husband had just had a pacemaker put in and was suffering with prostate and in a lot of pain for 3 months with 2 stays in the hospital. The hospital ordered a CT Scan we waited over a week for the results & when they came after 3 calls she only emailed us through Kaiser and she missed the part that he had very bad gallbladder stones which was casusing him a lot of pain and the last week was really bad, we got a someday appt. to see a PA and she told us the CT Scana, week ago, showed gallstones. So mad not sure what action to take out side of finding another doctor. So worried my husband doesn't get worse before the surgery. I almost lost my grown son 7 or 8 years ago with this. One is to many stars! DuJuann Donaldson

I went to see Clare with a list of symptoms. I was quickly dismissed after the typical labs all came back normal. What Clare missed was Lyme disease and babesiosis. Because of the delay in treatment, I have suffered for many years with chronic Lyme disease. I missed out on watching my son grow up because I was too sick to get out of bed. I am finally well enough to let her know how angry I am with her but as I am no longer a kaiser patient, I cannot email her directly. People deserve better.

Not impressed at all. She barley looked at my concern, wrote me off and moved on to the next person. I was in a lot of pain and she ignored it saying, just keep what you are doing it will go away eventually. Not recommended.

First of four Kaiser doctors to misdiagnose stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Two months after seeing four different Kaiser doctors went to a non Kaiser emergency room. Got a CT at non Kaiser ER. Kaiser never offered or said a scan was necessary. Her cancer was found at an ER. Never let Kaiser refuse you CT scan if you think you need one. We trusted Kaiser every step of the way. She sent my mom home with a new diet to help and stool softener for sta 4 cancer.
