Dr. Cody Barnett, MD

Previously I had been going to another GI, he had a terrible bedside manner. Not Doctor Barnett he treated me with kindness and compassion, and really listened . He quickly got to my problem before it became a serious condition. My husband also sees Dr Barnett and is well pleased with his treatment. I would wait all day if I had to just to see him. Kindness and peace of mind is important to me.

During a normal colonoscopy, he punctured my colon and lacerated my spleen.

I had an appointment at 11:30 and was here at 11:20 and here it is 11:51 and no one has called me in. The lady you check in with said they showed I had completed my visit. She went back to see what was wrong and told me they were coming right away. I checked back with that lady and she kept asking me if I had been called in which is ridiculous because I wouldn’t be sitting out in the Waiting Room if they had called me in. Then she had the hall to tell me he was out until 1:00. Must be nice they had their lunch on my time. I am reporting them!!!

Dr. Barnett was professional and outstanding. I had the most positive experience under Dr. Barnett care. Highly recommend.

He is new to me still learning him he is willing to test to find causes of issues so far has been pleasant and let’s me explain would like a little more time spent but understand they are busy

By far 1 of the 2 BEST GI Doctors in the state of Alabama. He along with another associate Doctor did not stop until they got to the bottom of my problem, which saved my life. I was only 20 years old and nearly died from a SBO. Dr. Barnett is a calm an collective man who’s intellectual about his craft. He also listens to all of your concerns and symptoms even if they have nothing to do with your issue. I highly recommend him.

I searched out Barnett myself on the internet to try to find a good GI for help. I am new to the area. Seeing good few things about him I went to him. My experience was completely not what I thought. I saw Barnett for a few months. He is rude!!! He does not care to hear and understand what you are dealing with. He makes his judgement of impression of you and then diagnosis you from there. My advice is run from his advice. He is a Jerk! The thing is he does not care about his patients!

I have been under the care of Dr. Barnett for several years now and I can and do highly recommend him to friends and family. He is caring, has a great bedside manner and shows compassion and empathy.

I will not recommend that anyone I care about see this pompous, arrogant man. He interrupts his patients, inserting his knowledge before the concern is fully expressed. I don't doubt his expertise in his field, but I prefer a compassionate medical professional. I'm sure that BCBS will cover one of those.
