Very knowledgeable, thorough & relaxed
Definitely a breath of fresh air. Dr. Ligon & his staff are very friendly & make a very relaxed atmosphere. Dr. Ligon is very thorough, which is comforting when you have a lot of health issues going on simultaneously & medications that may effect those issues for better or worse. He explains everything well, answers questions & takes his time. He even gave me a call at home later to further explain the effects of one of the medications. He also let me know what the time table for appointments with him, at this point, should be, which was very helpful. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ligon.

The best rheumatologist i ever had !
Dr.ligon is by far the best doctor i have ever had in all my 22 years of having DM (dermatomyositis) and i have been thru plenty of other doctors but he is the best. He is patient, listens and communicates very well. The visit are very thorough , he explains everything. He responds by as soon as possible thru my-chart and actually returns phone calls. He listened to every concern I’ve had and help me reach multiple goals. Me and my entire family thanks him for getting me back to my normal , without him i would be still be hearing my bones crack and felling like i was being crushed with every step . 10/10 highly recommend him to anyone

First visit with Dr Ligon
When I walked into the office for my appointment with Dr. Ligon I asked the front desk if they could bring info to DR. Ligons. The girl at the front desk called Dr. Ligon nurse. I expressed I had information for the Dr. his nurse came out to the front desk, she listened to what I needed. She was so helpful and very understanding she went out of her way to help me. When she brought me back to the examing room she made me feel relaxed and let me know the Dr will be right in. Dr. Ligon came in and introduced himself. After meeting him, I am very pleased, he listened, he read my information given to him. Communication was good between the patient and Dr. I related to him and will be going back! Very satisfied with the front office staff, with Dr. Ligon and his Nurse. Thank you!

Unusually awesome Dr
I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed a doctor, but I did want to post in this instance because I feel like my experience was unusually good. I saw Dr. Ligon. He was approachable and kind from the beginning. He actually took the time to look through the records I sent in from other doctors. He didn’t talk down to me at all, he thoroughly explained everything, and asked for clarification rather than jumping to conclusions. He never seemed annoyed when I asked questions (and I asked a bunch). I wish all doctors were like him! Highly recommended.

Dr Ligon is excellent physician, he got me back to walking, (my muscles were all gone), I have DM, couldn’t get up by myself, or walk, put in the right track with medication, PT, and he was very open minded about my diet changes. Never felt rush and he explained everything in a way that I could understand.

Dr. Ligon is a fantastic doctor! Yes, the wait to see him is almost always long, however keep in mind it is because he is taking the necessary time that each sick patient deserves and needs! I have been to many different doctors and NONE have ever helped me the way Dr. Ligon has. I don't think I'd be here today if it wasn't for him. He is worth the wait and I highly recommend Dr. Ligon. I wish more doctors handled their practices the way he does. He knows what he is doing.

He’s always behind schedule so the wait is awful - sometimes two hours or more!! He will spend time with his patients, but is ALWAYS sleepy and yawning. He looks exhausted all of the time. He rambles next steps and then backtracks with an entirely new set of instructions. he also doesn’t speak TO the patient. He talks in medical terms and then is shocked when I ask “what does that mean?” He’s annoying.

Misdiagnosed!! Was told by Dr. Ligon that I overused my muscles when in fact I have PMR. Current rheumatologist is dumbfounded that I was misdiagnosed given that my CRP was very elevated together with my classic PMR symptoms!! Must listen to patients' complaints together with lab results so he can arrive at correct diagnosis!!!!!
