Considerate
Dr. Barton is considerate, listens carefully to my problems and does not push medicines when PT would work.

Problems galore
Very difficult to reach. Answering service terrible and unreliable. Dr Barton doesn’t return calls. Getting a referral for a doctor she’s recommended is a hassle. Her staff is always courteous and friendly but they don’t seem to cooperate with me when I finally reach someone. They say the answering service is the problem. I can’t figure out what to do with her. She’s always a good listener and takes time to address my concerns. However, I have several other doctors that I need a referral for and they are difficult to get. I don’t need to see her, I just need a referral

I was reassigned to Dr. Barton when my primary Dr left the system. 3 visits to Dr. Barton since. I am most impressed by her demeanor and competence. Could she really be 45 years old - not 25 ??? Her staff is wonderful. When I was tiring from tests, they brought in a wheelchair and flocked over me until wheeling me to the curb. How could you get more caring service than this ??? And RN Amy is immediately responsive by phone to solve all issues immediately. She is great.

Heart transplant doctor at UTSW needed labs and in order for me to have them done locally, ordered them from Dr Barton's office. Dr Barton disallowed due to prior "problems" that were not identified. She essentially overruled a heart surgeon. No longer see her or use USMD.

Dr. Barton has been our family physician for close to 10 years now. She is super friendly, down to earth, and very comfortable to be around. She always seems excited to see us, takes time to listen and explain. We trust her completely. Great with kids and adults both. I have referred several friends over the years, and all have been very happy with the care they have received. Highly recommended.
