Twice... and they blew it.
I went twice to Dr. Austin's office. I had a growth at my nail bed line which also caused my nail to grow in concave versus the natural curve a nail has. His nurse practitioner lanced it at two different office visits. It grew back both times. I asked if my nail would always look concave, if I did manage to get rid of this growth. She said that the damage was done and it would not repair itself. I left the office feeling like she was arrogant and uncaring. So, I asked a friend of mine who is a family practitioner what she thought of it. She said that I should try using a wart remover. I did and it was gone for good after a short time. Also, the nail returned to its' original shape. It looks like I never had the growth at all. I was so angry at this nurse practitioner for being so dismissive, arrogant, and wrong. She diagnosed it incorrectly and had two different appointments to make it right. I will not be using this practice again.

Worst medical experience
Had an appointment to have a suspicious growth examined and a full body review. Craig Austin took less than 2 minutes to look at my body visually and said- everything looks fine. Shocked that was the “exam”, I pointed out the growth he didn’t notice. Response- “yep that looks funky”. He then proceeded to cut it off without any anesthetic - horrific pain. More than a month later, ankle still not healed. The outcome- a voicemail stating everything was fine without any further information. Shocking and concerning experience

Cannot thank Carolyn enough
I have been a patient since 2004 when my dermatologist retired. I have been under the care of Carolyn the PA since and she changed my life! I am diagnosed with full body atopic dermatitis and no dermatologist treatment was working. Carolyn immediately found what the issue was with past derm treatments and got me on a regimen. After trial and error in a short year I now have un noticeable patches and flaky skin! My confidence has shot to the sky thanks to Carolyn’s help and knowledge. She saved me from a humiliating high school experience of bullying and teasing by getting this cleared up! I promise you are in good hands with this practice!

I’d do zero stars if it let me.
Currently have been in the waiting room for over an hour. Don’t bother showing up early for your appointment. This place is completely mismanaged and overbooked. It’s a common theme here. 3 for 3 on visits where I spent an hour or more in the waiting room and spent less than 10 minutes with the doctor. Not to mention the 20 minutes you wait alone in the examination room itself. Absolutely the last time. You’d be better off googling your issues.

Doc Austin is a well trained and expert skin care specialist . I was impressed not only by his timely and compassionate care but also by his promptness in his return call to me personally concerning a problem I was having and on a weekend no less. Highly recommend. Outstanding office surgical skills.

Hi I had a 2:30 pm appointment and wasn’t seen by Sharon until 4:10. Nobody came out to explain to me what was going on or to ask me if I wanted to reschedule. When I mentioned it to Sharon she just said she had surgery. When I asked why I was scheduled for 2:30 than she blamed it on the front desk. She had no bedside manners regarding my concern which is to long to go into. She left and the nurse tried to explain it to me. Will never go back there and will seek a second opinion.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Austin for about 10 years. Originally started seeing him in Southampton when I was a teenager for my acne concerns, but now just go once every year or two for my annual check up and skin cancer screening. I used to be in his office very regularly as a teenager. I now see Dr. Austin at his new york city location.. Cane + Austin Medi Spa on the Upper East Side.

Found Dr. Austin through his skincare brand, Cane + Austin. Just moved to NY from Albany, and needed to get my acne in check. Ive been suffering from acne since i was a teenager and have been on every medication on the planet. Dr. Austin advised me about my previous treatment plan, and what to do in the future.

I've been seeing Dr. Craig Austin since I was a little kid at his upstate location. He's a really nice guy and has always spent the time to educate me on how to take care of my skin. Recently visited his new location on the Upper East regarding a suspicious mole on my back that my girlfriend noticed a month ago. Dr. Austin performed a biopsy on the mole, and his medical assistant called me earlier today to follow up with a diagnosis. His new york city location is really beautiful---you would

Dr Austin is great if you can actually accomplish the impossible and get an appointment with him. If you are unfortunately left seeing one of his P.As run for your life. Carolyn has no bedside manner and is a butcher. She has no skills, is unable to diagnose and will leave you carved up and scarred, even if you're young! My new dermatologist had stated upon seeing a chest scar that he never would have scraped that and scarred someone under 40. Go elsewhere please
