I went in for an IUD removal, and it was the worst medical experience of my life. Dr. Hurst couldn't find the IUD, and kept moving further and further into my cervix, causing me some of the worst pain I've ever felt. I sobbed though the whole procedure, and he never succeeded in removing it. I was left to change back into my clothes with bloody instruments out on the counter, and nothing to wipe up my also bloody self. I was not given a pad, and so I bled into my clothes through the ultrasound to find the IUD. Dr. Hurst told me I could come back in a couple weeks, and he would "try again", with no game plan on how it would actually work next time. I've loved Dr. Hurst in the past, but I will NOT be returning after this. I left hysterical and traumatized.

I honestly have genuine concerns about Dr. Hurst's ability to assess and treat gynecological issues. I've heard he's a great OB, but when I went in for a myoma tumor and lower-abdominal pain, he was not helpful, and had I stayed with him, I would have gotten much worse. I was on a service mission in Ukraine when I started having what I thought was just painful ovulation, but when I went in for an ultrasound, they found a myoma tumor. I came home and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Hurst, as I'd never been to an OB/GYN before, and my sisters loved him when he delivered their babies. When I went in, he asked me a few questions, told me it couldn't be endometriosis because my periods were normal, and told me to set up an appointment at the hospital for an ultrasound. A few days after my ultrasound, Dr. Hurst's assistant called to say that my results looked fine, and was surprised when I asked to come in to see him again. At my next appointment, the first thing Dr. Hurst said was, "So

I really wanted to like him and the staff... but I left disappointed every time. I didn't feel like he cared one bit about me. He seemed annoyed when I had questions that would make the office visit longer than 4 minutes. His Ultrasound tech is NOT friendly. Trust me I do NOT need to be coddled. I do need to be listened to and it wouldn't kill for the US tech to crack a smile. I think he is ready to retire and it's evident he is ready. He nice but annoyed, stoic and indifferent.

Dr Hurst has been a wonderful Doctor for me. He's very patient, and calm. When I was delivering my son, the cord was wrapped around his neck twice. Dr Hurst was so calm, and I honestly had no idea that there was any danger, because of how he reacted. He's absolutely wonderful!

Dr Hurst is an amazing Physician in the delivery room, exam room and in surgery, as I have witnessed and experienced all of these. Not only as a patient but as a physician to work with. I have worked with many Drs and when it came time to choose my own personal Dr it was a no brainer. I HIGHLY recomend him.
