Not good. My doctor had retired and I had my first appointment with Dr Serrano. We were new to each other but when he walked into the room, there was no greeting or hello. He walked in and said “I see you have stage 3 kidney disease.” Never had I heard that from any prior doctors or subsequent ones. It was my last appointment with this non-compassiinate doctor who couldn’t take time to be friendly or informed with facts from my records.

I met Dr. Serrano for the first time yesterday with my non-verbal adult son. The doctor rushed into the exam room seeming very agitated and upset. Without introducing himself or asking my name, he announced that my son needed to go to the emergency room for a blood and urine test and a chest X-ray. We were there because he has cold sores in his mouth. Without examining him, the doctor insisted that my son has an internal infection. He felt my son's neck, saying that he was "hot". He hadn't read the chart to see that the nurse had recorded my son's normal temperature. When I asked questions, he was very defensive and belligerent. Maybe he was having a terrible day, but he didn't inspire confidence. One of the prescriptions he said he was writing did not make it to the pharmacy. I have not gotten a return call to find out why. It was a very hectic and difficult meeting.

I had an appointment for June 4th, the same day that my husband had a stroke and was admitted to Valley General Hospital. Daughter called to post pone my appointment because I am deaf. I want to reschedule my appointment with this new doctor in order to renew my thyroid medications that I take for the rest of my life. Seems like a really nice doctor and I am looking forward to meeting him... Please email me an appointment date and time. Thank you.

Not sure about the negative comments; sounds like people who do not understand the current medical system and how a primary care provider does need to know what your conditions are. As a primary care provider, Dr. Serrano is very compassionate and skilled. He does try to stay on time so every patient can be treated equally. If you have complicated issues, Dr. Serrano will help find ways to bring you to your optimal health and encourage you to also play a part.

Excellent clinician: listens well and highly skilled internal medicine physician. Of my 20+ years of practice as a medical provider and as a patient, I would endorse him as the best and he has my full trust.

Dr. Serrano refused to take my mother as a new patient because I was concerned that he didn’t receive her medical records from her previous provider (who retired so we were seeking a new PCP). I have never been so blatantly mistreated by a medical professional in my life. My mother has dementia so I am her memory and advocate on her behalf. Dr. Serrano had no empathy for us and is an awful example of a professional.

I went to see Dr. Serrano for a wellness physical, as a new patient. I filled out paperwork, answered questions. In the visit, HE asked ME about MY surgeries, illnesses, family history, and medications. Then billed me for the visit. There should be no co-pay for a wellness visit as an insured patient. When I received a bill, I contacted billing, and was told "we discussed more then blood pressure, etc." I have a Urologist to discuss my other issues with. WHAT A SCAM! I WILL NOT BE RETURNING!
