I started my wls journey over 2 years ago. With insurance changing (my husband switched jobs once ) & after going all the way thru the process his insurance decided to drop WLS . Then Covid hit & he lost his job. We ended up with the Sanford expansion plan. After 15 mths I was FINALLY able to have my gastric bypass! He was so amazing thru the whole process never giving up on me. I’m happy to say that at 11 mths out from my surgery I am 96 pounds down!

1st off, I want to say Dr McField was very professional during/after & l am very happy with the surgery performed & the results. I do want to point out though, he was very condescending when I went in for my 1st Bariatric surgery consultant where he told me that I was the fattest guy he has seen… Keep in mind that 1)I’m in a Bariatric surgery center, 2)he performs Bariatric surgery for a living & 3)there were people in the office that were post surgery larger than me…he gave me a daunting weight loss goal to achieve before he would perform the surgery that he wanted; otherwise, he said I would need to have 2. I don’t think he took me serious in my first visit & judged me based on my weight. Because of this, I feel he didn’t listen to me. I have problems maintaining weight loss so I can lose large amounts of weight, only to gain it back plus some; so when he gave me this Daunting number & I hit it, he started taking me more serious. Like I said, when it comes to the surgery he is great.

Dr McField is the most skilled, compassionate surgeon that I have ever known. It is with such regret and sadness that he will be leaving our area to continue elsewhere. Our loss will be their gain. Wishing much happiness to a wonderful surgeon.
