Dismissive, condescending, judgemental
I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Dana. I came in for a routine OB-GYN visit to discuss conceiving and left feeling judged, dismissed, and humiliated. He questioned whether I “cared” about my future child, called me “desperate” for tracking ovulation, and shamed me about my weight in a condescending tone. There was no chaperone in the room during the exam, which made me feel exposed and unsafe. When I asked about testing, he brushed me off completely.I later went to a different OB-GYN who took me seriously, ran an ultrasound, and found a uterine polyp that needed to be addressed—something Dana told me to ignore. I’ve since filed a formal complaint with Hackensack Meridian.Avoid this provider. His behavior was unprofessional, cruel, and dismissive at every turn.

The doctor is smug and condescending. He does not think out of the box and is not up to date on the latest treatments He is needs to come down off his own pedestal

Please avoid.
Dr. Jacoby delivered my now 16 year old daughter. I was a teen mom and he made sure I knew that every visit. He told me I didn’t need to stay with my boyfriend (now husband) at visits and encouraged me to compliment him. He asked me why I chose him as a provider, my response was honest “you were in my network”, he decided to tell me why he’s the best around mentioning his schooling and years of experience. I had never seen an OBGYN before this and I thought this was typical. When it was around my due date Dr. Jacoby was very sarcastic and rude whenever I voiced concerns. Once I went to the hospital sure that I was in labor. They called Dr. Jacoby who then yelled at me over the phone for going to the emergency room. He brushed me off on every concern I had. Cut to delivery, he was impatient and annoyed the entire time. He made comments about how I woke him up. After my daughter was born he pulled my placenta before it detached, pulling out my uterus and nearly killing me from blood loss

Condescending and does not listen
My blood pressure was very high on 1/10/2022 under Dana Jacoby’s care. I was admitted to the hospital on 1/15/2022 - 5 days later - thereafter the nurse suggests I go on blood pressure meds for preeclampsia. My husband is not here bc per the hospital if he arrives he cannot leave until Thursday, 1/20/22 (day of planned C-section), per COVID restrictions. Dr. Dana Jacoby is snarky and condescending, and says to me, "I know you will tell me there is everything to know about preeclampsia now". Also states during this conversation, "there are some things on the fetal heart monitor strips that do not look the best". I ask like what, he says, "I am not going TO GIVE A LESSON in FETAL HEART monitoring", and then leaves. After 35 hours of being admitted and so called monitored at Riverview hospital we lost our son on 1/17/2022 due to Jacoby’s negligence and failure to deliver our son when baby was in distress. I was 8.5 months pregnant…mom’s choose your doctors and care wisely.

Condescending and doesn’t listen to patient – Feb 08, 2023

Dr.Jacoby is overly confident, has terrible bedside manner, pompous attitude, listens to nothing you say (example: was 6 weeks pregnant he asked how I was feeling and when I started to tell him how sick I was he cut me off and says “I only care about what’s going on down there”) not to mention he repeatedly told me I was going to miscarry, mind you I had no symptoms of a miscarriage, my HCG levels were perfectly on target, her ultrasounds showed her growth and I was early in my pregnancy with my first child, who wants to hear those words especially when they are “don’t get your hopes up” I spent the beginning of my pregnancy in tears waiting for something to go wrong nervous for the remainder of needless to say after only my second visit with him I switched practices that same day and had a full term healthy pregnancy and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl if it wasn’t for him I would never have been so anxious and probably would have enjoyed being pregnant.

Dr. Jacoby and his entire staff … including the receptionist and nurse … were absolutely great. Not only did I feel comfortable with him and the nurse but, more importantly, felt that Dr. Jacoby was extremely knowledgeable. He understood my questions and was very explanatory. His kind demeanor, sense of humor and concern for his patient would put anyone at ease. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Jacoby!!

Dr. Jacoby made me feel well & is keeping a close eye on my medical needs and not taking things for granted. His Staff is very genuine and totally understanding. The longest I wait is only 10 minutes which is excellent in my eyes. I would highly recommend him & his team.

Although his nurses and staff were warm and welcoming, he had an overly confident, judge mental, salesy personality with poor bedside manner. I understand many women may be okay with this but the experience left me with a horrible taste in my mouth. I’m so happy I never went back and switched to a different group that has made my first pregnancy absolutely wonderful. Go with your gut, ladies. If something feels off, it usually is. Pregnancy is such a special time and you don’t need to settle.

Dr. Jacoby is wonderful, I would recommend him very strongly to anyone looking for a caring, talented and experienced OB/GYN. He was my doctor both through a miscarriage and a successful pregnancy. He took the time to meet with me and my husband when we found out the bad news, and counseled us not only a medical level, but on a human level. He also just helped us deliver a healthy and happy baby girl days ago. Talking to him you feel more like you are taking to a friend than a doctor.
