While he did diagnose my mother with Parkinson's disease, he had a horrible bedside manner!! Gave this Dr 3 chances because we were hoping he was just having a bad day. Nope, apparently the rudeness, arrogance, won't look at you while speaking is him on a daily basis. To him every patient is the same and he treats them that way, but thats not the case, especially with Parkinson's. It's such a wide variety of symptoms and everyone is different but he doesn't treat that, he just labels the disease and treats it by the most common meds. Do yourself a favor and find someone else!!

Waiting
The dr is very knowledgeable, not the best bedside manner, but it’s just a 10min appt. I am not giving a good review because of his nurse that is supposed to schedule needling. I saw him as my neurologist that had retired and his nurse told me it would be an easy transfer of around 48 hours and I would be able to get my needling appointment scheduled. six weeks later, I can barely move my neck. I’m in a great amount of time and I’ve s to my insurance co twice have held insurance the whilemy insurance co. tried to contact his nurses and the nurse that schedules the needling has still yet to call me back ! Nor has she called my insurance in six weeks! It’s absolutely incredible. Even his office staff that answers the phones were frustrated. If I had a choice of seeing another movement disorder doctor that was in this area, I would definitely switch, but he is the only one and this region.

Confident and Brilliant
He truly knows his profession - he diagnoses on fact and not merely carrying on a rubber stamp of diagnosis from prior doctors. When in doubt and unsure from what other doctors state -seek his opinion, Hands down the best at what he does - our area is fortunate to hame him and so are his students

He's the type of physician who treats patients by the probabilities, rather than as an individual with an individual variant of a disease. This is especially problematic for his Parkinson's patients, because that disease shows so many variations in symptoms and progression. Ask him specific questions relating to these variations, and he says (again and again), "I'm just a range and motion guy." There's a lot more to the specialty than "range and motion" - for example, interest, listening, good diagnostic habits, and not being lazy. Find someone else.

My mother was referred to Dr Dees for her Parkinsons disease. He was arrogant and didn't even have the curtesy to LOOK at my mother when he spoke to her. We felt like we were bothering him just being there. He needs to get knocked down a few notches. Maybe he should be working with computers-he wont need a personality & compassion for that.

Dr. Daniel Dees is an excellent neurologist that specialize in Movement Disorders such as Parkinson’s. We are not fortunate enough to have a Neurologist specializing in Parkinson’s in Pensacola. It is worth the drive and any wait time to see Dr. Dees. He is a very caring doctor. Listens and answers all of your questions. He allows physician training under him, which many physicians will not do. It does take them more time, but the only way a physician is going to learn to be a good physician is through experience. I suffered with worsening tremors and providers telling me it was essential tremors. Dr. Dees diagnosed me with Parkinson’s, putting me on the correct medication to help my symptoms. If you have any question about whether you have Parkinson’s it’s well worth a visit with Dr. Dees. .

Rude, talks and treats you like your stupid, appears to be waisting his time,or just doesn’t want to be bothered. Someone needs to bring his cocky attitude down a few levels. We’re paying patients, and deserve much better. We sure hope he’s correct with his opinion on a tumor (that everyone has it,etc), because if not, he’ll be hearing more...

After years of seeing a neurologist in Pensacola FL, trying to determine why I kept falling, being misdiagnosed, treated with various medications, I had an appointment with Dr. Dees, a movement disorder specialist. He diagnosed me with Parkinson's and while that's not what one would hope for, I now have a name for it and it can be treated! I thank God for Dr. Dees. He's everything I could hope for in a physician and his support staff is great (his clinic manager is always most helpful).

We had high hopes of finding a movement disorder specialist close. After waiting an hr for 10 minutes of his time, we were very disappointed. He is very uncaring and responds to questions very sarcastically. He lacks empathy for patients and family members. It is worth a 4 hr drive to visit a knowledgeable and caring medical team. Hoping he was just having a bad day and not the way he treats all patients as we were very disappointed in the professionalism demonstrated in this visit.

How fortunate we are to have Dr. Daniel Dees here in south Alabama! In fact, he is the only neurologist in our area with distinction of Movement Disorder Specialist . Before he began his practice, I was traveling to UAB in Birmingham. With my nine year ago of diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease, I feel competent in evaluating doctors. With enthusiasm, dedication, and knowledge, Dr. Dees answers my questions with thought and does not give "pat answers."
