I had a positive experience with this doctor.
Dr. Deighton was direct and to the point but did answer any and all of my questions. He did an amazing job with my surgery and I am very grateful for that! I needed a doctor to treat my issue. I am respectful to the fact that doctor’s may not always be that friendly or talkative. This doctor is very good but direct and to the point! I am ok with that!

Visit with Dr. Deighton today
This man is terrible. I agree with he remark above, “he is rude, impatient, rushed, dismissive, abrupt, condescending and unconcerned.” This was my first visit. He didn’t want to hear what I had to say. Even said, when I tried to show him something about my condition, “I don’t want to see that.” I left and will see another doctor. Do not waste your time on him. Just an awful experience.

Went for my 6 months checkup… drive over a hour to tell me my appointment was canceled and had been rescheduled for 3 more months… that is ridiculous… bc he decides to go on vacation… and the office never called to let me know the appt was canceled../ I will be taking my business else where… obviously he doesn’t care about his patients!!!!!

Very Ill and Insufficiently Treated – Nov 30, 2020

After learning I had prostate cancer and having previously been treated by him for many years, I had what turned out to be my final appt with this guy. He used inexcusable language with my wife present and got “short” with me after I asked a simple question. If you are being treated for urological issues, prostate cancer or have a family history of prostate cancer & want to keep on top of your rising PSAs, don’t fool around with the “locals.” My recommendation is Emory Healthcare, Atlanta, specifically their Winship Cancer Institute. (It’s worth the drive, believe me!) You can self-refer on-line; you won’t regret it. Top urologists within specific disciplines of urology—not just a “general urologist!” And their docs accept Medicare Part B, and TRICARE. They did my radical robotic prostatectomy—so far cancer-free! Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville is another option, but they’re too far away, IMO. BTW, all men should read “Surviving Prostate Cancer,” by Dr. Patrick Walsh, Johns Hopkins Univ.

I trust this guy with my health and life. I have been seeing him for bladder cancer since 2016. I make sure I got to all his appointments and receive his recommend treatment/follow-up schedule. He tells it like it is and short and to the point and some people can’t take that!

I took my son and Dr. Deighton was not understanding of my child’s age. He was short with my son throughout the 5 minute visit with him. When the appointment was over, my son apologized to the doctor for squirming a little during the exam. Dr Deighton didn’t even acknowledge him or speak to him. The people at the front desk were rude and I’m still waiting (a month later) for them to do a referral for us. I do not recommend him as a doctor for children, at all!

I have been to this doctor almost a year ago. My health care provider STILL has not gotten the needed report. Even after me going to his office twice to ask Dr. Deighton's staff and was reassured they would take care of this. Nothing has happened. This office staff is dangerous to the patients. I know he rushes through his appointments, but he is a good doctor. Quick, yes, but good. It's his staff that needs to be completley changed. They are clueless to say the least.

This Doctor is awful!!! Gave me my prostate cancer diagnosis and said here's your 3 options you can go home and research them, I'm not going to go over all of them with you. Very very rude and abrupt! This was probably the worst doctors appointment I have ever been to! Plus he will heard you through like cattle, probably why he didn't explain anything to us. Please pick another doctor!!

He rushed throw appointments like I knew what he was talking about. Didn't prepare me for what was going to happen to me and about how long it takes to recover. Hours and short. If you call with a problem, staff tells you to go to the ER.

Radical Prostate Cancer Surgery in 2008. Excellent. Upfront about possible side effects and what to expect. Has been most healthful through all these years. Know's his stuff and doen't spend a lot of time piddling around. Get's to the point and is a bit blunt with his replies, but that's good. You always know were you stand and what's what. I like him.
