Great medical care, helpful staff
I've had four appointments so far, and all went well. Great doctor - listened and spent a lot of time with me, and staff was welcoming and efficient. My new insurance only covers appointments at UMass, so I had to leave my St. V's doctor. So far, I've like the testing better at Umass then St. V's, - much more organized. I saw the last post - I'm not sure that person realizes that Dr. Freitas can't order testing at St. V's because he's a UMass doctor. That's why I had to leave my last PCP - they were St. V's affiliated, but my new insurance makes me use UMass.

Office manager told me to go elsewhere
I have been a patient at this practice for a few years and overall have liked all the providers I've seen. I've never seen Dr. Freitas, but I really like Stacey, Erica and James. Due to my insurance I have to go to St. Vincent Hospital for any procedure. Every time I have something ordered I have to follow up to see if it was actually ordered because although I always make sure to state I need to go to St. Vincent, they send it to UMass. This most recent time I was told by the office manager that it's too difficult for them to order things at St. Vincent so I should go find another provider. She was very condescending and made it very clear that I was putting a burden on her. I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years and understand that electronic interfaces are great, but sometimes systems aren't connected, and you just need to put in a little effort. Although I do like the providers, I don't feel confident that the office staff is competent or helpful.
