Dr. Daniel Hankins, MD

He seemed a nice enough person chatting during pre-op, but I woke up from surgery in so much knee pain I was crying! It felt worse than the initial break, which was REALLY bad. The surgical report says Dr Hankins administered a block or enough medication to get me through post-op, but that obviously did not happen. When my surgeon sent staff to go find Dr Hankins, he was already in his car and heading out of the parking lot. Months later I am being back-billed four thousand dollars for Dr Hankins charges even though his office said he was contracted with my insurance at a reduced rate. First post-op pain, then hours of my time sorting out the billing. Frustrating. I realize it is unfair to judge a person on one bad experience, but I know I won't be using this Doctor again.

I did not know my anesthesiologist's name until I received my medical records today but I thought about him a few times since my emergency c-section. He was like an angel protecting me when I more scared than I had ever been in my life. His comfort before and during the surgery meant the world. I will never forget him for this. He really cared.
