Bilateral femoral nerve pain.
“Maybe you should see a pain specialist. You can’t fix something that’s not broken“. Because it’s fibromyalgia, he doesn’t want to dig further? I was told by his staff that he looks at hip nerves and femoral nerves. To which he replied, I am a spinal doctor. Apparently he doesn’t know anything about nerves. This doctor dismissed me., And could care less about my pain. Just like most doctors just looking to get paid. If you want to be taken seriously, I do not recommend this doctor. The quickness of which she dismissed me was even astonishing to me a person that has been to many doctors that are trying to figure out why I am having pain in the nerves. Even if he claimed not to work with hips or the femoral nerve You don’t typically just dismiss the pain that the patient is having.

Great Experience with Dr. Peterson
Amazing is all I can say. I saw 3 surgeons before I chose to go with Dr. Peterson and am I glad I did. He is no nonsense and gets it done. My back surgery was a breeze. Recovery wasn’t near as bad as it was made out to be so that was also a nice surprise. 2 years later and still happy with the results of laminectomy. My spinal stenosis has caused other issues but not related to the job he did for me.

I was recommended to Dr. Peterson in 2010 by The University of Texas Athletics staff as I was a Track & Field athlete who had just discovered a tumor on my pituitary gland. Only 19 at the time, Dr. Peterson was miraculous in every aspect. He performed the procedure successfully and continued to monitor my health year after year. I hurt my back during my career at UT and knew Dr. Peterson would take care of that too. He was extremely thorough with what options I had and ultimately I chose to get a discectomy. Back pain is not one size fits all, but if there's anyone who can help you find relief it's Dr. Peterson and his staff.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Peterson and all of the staff at Austin Neurosurgeons. I originally saw them for a second opinion but they took the time to make me comfortable, answer all my questions and not rush me and made me feel at ease about having to have surgery during the middle of all the Covid craziness. I’m so glad that I followed my instinct and went with them instead for my surgery. They’re whole staff was patient, kind and comforting and made sure that I was taken care of. And even in follow up care they were very good about helping to make sure I was comfortable and healing well. I hope that I never have to have a surgery like that again but if I do I will go back to them without any hesitation.

dr. peterson was very professional and caring. As soon as I was in recovery he came and told me he had talked the insurance company into letting me stay in the hospital for three days - very thoughtful of him to so, and as i said very caring. I will soon need to have more treatment for my back and i am fortunate and grateful that Dr. Peterson is still operating (and in a new beautiful building with all the amenities for surgery, hospital recovery rooms, and pain management and physical therapy: not to mention and in-house kitchen service (I had a BLT on wheat that was out of this world!! his office manager and front end staff are all exceedingly helpful by phone and during check-in.

I've known Dr. Peterson since 2007. He and I explored every other means of treatment *except* surgery, before he performed my first lumbar fusion in '08. He and his staff were wonderful. I was terrified then, as I was before my subsequent surgeries in '12 and '18. Dr. Peterson is very calm and reassuring, but at the same time, no BS. He doesn't sugar coat and he doesn't try to guess. I have tremendous peace of mind knowing I have him on my team. No matter what the future holds, I'm in good hands

I cannot recommend Dr. Peterson and Austin Brain and Spine highly enough. From the first consultation that confirmed a tumor on my brain through my surgery and recovery and my one year checkup, I was treated with the utmost respect and concern. My surgery was successful and my recovery guided by Austin Brain and Spine has been remarkable.
