Outstanding Surgeon
Dr. Sheldon was my surgeon for rotator cuff surgery twelve years ago, total knee replacement four years ago, and total hip replacement two years ago. All three procedures had excellent results. His physical therapy programs and pain management protocol were exceptional. I have resumed all of my previous physical activities and have an excellent quality of life.

Very dissaapointed...
I was a patient of Dr Sheldon almost a year ago I had hip surgery and he did a magnificent orthopedic surgeon. But recently I went into the hospital due to chronic confusion, falling down, having spacial difficulties as well as extremely disorientation. I was admitted the same exact hospital he works at. The hospital found out through testing, I had an aneurysm in my lung and a blood clot in my right leg. I spent 5 days in the hospital and you know that at no time did Dr Sheldon even inquire how I was or come see and how I was feeling. He was only a few floors above me in his office. Dr Sheldon a absolutely gifted surgeon but it truly seems he does not care really about his patients. His front staff is exemplary.I was just really let down and felt I was just a thing and not person by Dr Sheldon. If he had just called and asked me how was I or was there anything I maybe could need. Instead the only doctor that did contacted me was Dr Paul Bates, my GP. He cared enough to call me.

awesome doctor
I must say that over the last year I have visited half a dozen different specialists, one of them being Dr Sheldon to perform surgery on a radial, complete displaced tibia fracture. I must say that Dr. Sheldon professionalism, care and incredible accuracy is second to absolutely none. On my first visit right after the accident he explained the options, one of them being the intramedullary nail, and what to expect during the recovery process. As a structural engineer myself, Dr. Sheldon explained the procedure “in my own language” ….After agreeing to the surgery, he scheduled surgery for the following morning, thus not giving enough time to look at “google” photos of the procedure. I was monumentally surprised to see the perfect fit of the bone when I compared to pictures, I saw in the internet. The recovery was flawless, and the A+ service I got from the front desk and the whole staff was nothing short of impeccable. I highly recommend Dr Sheldon.

I had a bad experience with another surgeon regarding a right shoulder injury. Had surgery with Dr Sheldon and did great until I reinjured my shoulder. Dr Sheldon told me it was overuse and I followed his recommendations without relief. At that point, I sent 6 messages to his office to get some assistance. No response! It feels as though all is good if you are a surgical candidate. After that you are on your own. Went to my third ortho and diagnosed with a frozen shoulder! If you need surgery, I think he is great. If you have issues past your initial post operative period, you are on your own.

Our 2nd opinion was our choice
My mom is elderly and overweight. She ambulates with a walker. After years of creams, cortisone shots, knee braces and consultations with other doctors we found Dr Sheldon. The knee pain was a reflection of a worn hip. All pros and cons were discussed prior to surgery. Hip surgery was a success and no more pain. Very happy with the service and staff.

Knee problem x-rayed Tuesday. Made appointment for shot following Monday. Arrived 10 minutes early. No appointment even though I had appointment card with correct date and time. Asked to have doctor call me. 3 days and counting. Maybe they do not like Medicare patients.

I had to wait 2.5 hours for an appointment with Dr. Sheldon that I scheduled weeks in advance. I could understand if it was due to an emergency, but his staff told me that it wasn't - it was due to overbooking. Not everyone who goes to see him is retired and does not have work responsibilities. That was just plain disrespectful.

For someone who was “highly” recommended by a nurse for 30 years, I was not impressed. I went to Dr. Sheldon to get a professional option regarding right shoulder pain after lifting something heavy. I was never weighed and my BMI was never taken. To my face I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder and given a shot of cortisone, with zero relief & a RX for physical therapy. I call to schedule and on my paperwork I was diagnosed as “obese with right shoulder pain.” I undergo an annual physical, I am no medication, I’m an ex collegiate athlete, I had two knee surgeries within a year and I have a very physical job. So sorry I’m not the “right”” size for you. Everyone cannot be a size 4 Dr. Sheldon. It’s so sad that black women can not get the proper care that we need without being “labeled” by someone who doesn’t know them. My PMD has never labeled me as obese so how dare you. I will never visit your office or refer you to anyone.

I had a wonderful experience with this doctor and his staff. I was lucky to get a very fast appointment. The lady at the front desk was very nice. I went into the patient's room much faster than expected. And most of all, the doctor was amazing when he met with me. He explained my injury and told me that i did not need surgery as i thought. I would absolutely return to this doctor.

Very nice and thorough doctor. He provided alternatives without pushing for a surgery. It is very difficult to get an appointment with him due to his workload. With regards to the office staff and while they are very nice, they lack responsiveness. After my second appointment a week ago, they were supposed to get back to me regarding treatment and insurance coverage but failed to do so. I had to call and was then asked to call a 3rd party provider for the information.

Dr. Sheldon was very patient with me, explained the procedure and helped me make a final decision based on all the facts. The surgery went very well, he visited me every day in the hospital and the follow up visits went very well. I would recommend him and his office staff 100%.

Waited over 3 hours and the office attitude was they could care less. I thought Dr. Sheldon would want to know we witnessed 3 patients leave and rescheduled because they could not wait anymore. I thought he wasn’t aware of the problem. His response was he did know and that made it all a bit sadder. No respect for people’s time. Finally, I kept getting up to hold the door for patients to maneuver through the front door. No automatic button for patients in an orthopedics office. What a joke!

I have been using Dr. Sheldon since 2008. I just love him and his staff. When you break a bone, you are not happy, but knowing that Dr. Sheldon is there for me, it is a lot better to deal with. For those that complain about waiting, Dr. Sheldon has not turned me down when I have called with a broken bone. He takes care of emergencies so I don't mind waiting as I have been that emergency.
