Dr. Tynan listens and is very caring.
Dr. Tynan listened and worked with me for a positive result. I have had two surgeries with Dr. Tynan and both were successful. I have not had back pain since my last surgery. Dr. Tynan not only listened and gave me a diagnosis, he consistently checked on me through the night after my second surgery. I understand people are looking for someone who has personality plus and tap dances into the room. That's not Dr. Tynan's style but he is very caring and diagnosed and repaired something that Mayo Clinic told me I'd just have to live with.

I had back surgery to remove a disc in 2013. The surgery went well, I was unable to walk when I arrived by ambulance. I was not given guarantees I would walk out. Surgery was successful with little to no residual issues. He lacks a bedside manner, that is an understatement! He was rude and dismissive in follow up appointments. I would not choose to work with him again in a more elective type situation but my surgery was very successful and an emergency!

I've been scheduled to see Dr. Tynan 2 times. He did not properly address my low back issue on the first visit. He even asked me if I was a Veteran. I told him I have private insurance. His employee said I needed to see radiology on 2nd visit, they would not schedule me though I tried many times.

My mom has gone through 3 back surgeries with Dr. Tynan. At the last surgery, he belittled her by telling her how hard it was to do surgery because of excess weight. Mind you -- at that time my mom worked out everyday. With another issue arising, dr's think her back is causing her pain and recommended her to go back to see him. She refuses. The fact that my mom would rather live with the pain than see him is profound. Don't ignore the star rating on this doctor.
