Dr. Valez explained with great care what would take place during my daughter's several surgeries and heart transplant. He spent time explaining directly to my daughter as well. He checked on her every day and reassured her that she was going to be better than ok!

Dr. Velez did my son's first heart surgery when he was 5 months old. He was amazing! He was knolageable and experienced with my son's extremely rare congenital heart defect. He has a great bedside manner! He is the only one I would trust with my son.

Velez performed surgery on my daughter & repaired most of the issues with her heart, but left her rib cage extremely deformed. After leaving the hospital I have received NO follow up from this Velez or his office. To date I do not know if all of his patients are left with such deformities, or what the options are for repair since we have had no contact with him. My daughter's deformity is much worse than I have seen on any other person who had this surgery, and I would not recommend Velez.
