Incompetent staff, poor service, won't return phone calls and the office is extremely slow in responding to prescription refills, often waiting one to two weeks before responding to my husband's heart and medicinal needs.

Negligence, unprofessional, zero starts!
Dr. Hood and staff on multiple occasions have not returned calls, my father was sent home from the hospital, high risk CHF and still had many complications. Dr. Hoods office never called us back, not one time. We had to keep calling to get proper medication. On multiple occasions his prescription was not even called in!!!! The PA did not seem to care, and we still have not received his blood work results!!!! It’s insane. I would not take my dog to be cared for by any of these people. If you are going to be a speciality practice for the HEART, you should take this seriously and answer calls and or call your patients back. But they probably only care about the money, not the patients. It’s just sad. I would leave zero negative stars.

Unorganized facility
Patient was scheduled for bloodwork. The day prior was told where to go. Patient arrives only to find out no blood work orders were sent from office. Patient calls Dr office only to be told the orders didn't get sent because of being short staffed, but would get them immediately. Two hours pass still no orders sent. Patients time is as valuable as the doctor.

Rock solid cardiologist!
Dr. Hood has taken care of me for about 20 years-cared for me through approximately 7 cardiac stents, a pretty serious heart attack, triple bypass, and congestive heart failure. I always enjoy visits with Dr. Hood, as he is a very personable, yet professional fellow. Total confidence in him. His entire staff are also top-notch, never more than a few minutes wait, always an enjoyable experience!

This establishment has went downhill in the last few years. I've been going to see Dr. Hood and his nurse practitioner for a long time and it gets worse with every visit. They are unorganized and tell you one thing and then another. The billing department is horrible and rude and charges you for something you don't owe. The level of care here is no longer acceptable and I am transferring my records to another doctor.

No doubt Dr Hood is a brilliant Doctor and extremely knowledgeable. HOWEVER, his staff is extremely rude and non responsive. My insurance company needed additional information to fill a prescription. I called and my insurance called for 2 months and could not get anyone to respond. Additionally, because of a mix up with my appointment, the RECEPTIONIST gave me my test results. Totally unacceptable. I am sad to say that I would not recommend this Doctor.

Dr. Hood's staff are unfriendly and hateful. Every encounter I've had has been stressful. Last time I spoke with the office staff l was upset enough to have a heart attack. I'm going to see someone else because it's been that bad.

I've really appreciated the expertise of Dr. Hood and he has worked hard to help me with my issues. HOWEVER - after a change in medication, and after being instructed by Dr Hood to call with any issues, I had uncontrolled BP highs and after repeated calls to the office they never relayed a message to my doctor and refused to let me speak to him. I'm going to have to go to the ER because of inept office staff for something the doctor could manage easily.

Expert in his field; has true, sincere compassion for the total needs//issues//concerns of the patient. Practices Holistic medicine where he see the patient all areas of their life. ie: medical, emotional, family, worries/concerns of the future immediate and longer term. He will take time to discuss these areas if. He has an appealing personality that helps ease patient fears, tensions, etc. To me the main thing of course is his knowledge of the field and can readily explain questions you have.
