Professional and very competent
I found Dr Christensen to be very alert and observant as we discussed my condition I felt he genuinely cared for my well being. He made a change to my medications that resulted in a significant change to my health and well being. I was feeling better than I had in years thanks to Dr Christensen's care. I recommend him whole heartedly. But he not one to wax poetic he is a to the point professional worth many years of experience. I'm a very fortunate to have found him when I moved to area.

Former long-term patient.
Seemed only wanting to consider and treat my depression, though he did also prescribe anxiety meds for awhile (I tried to avoid them, given how addictive they are). But when I started seeing him, I gave him my background, which included being diagnosed with Asperger's (now autism) by an individual in Ohio with decades of specializing in almost exclusively that, and years of treatment in Pittsburgh for that and the associated depression (dysthymic clear up to MDD), anxiety (which included panic attacks), and PTSD. Did not seem open to checking on the possibility of also having ADHD, and seemed to discount the autism. Does not help that most appointments lasted maybe 15-20 min, at most (my neuropsych appointments in PA lasted over 30 min, every time). Other issues came up before losing insurance made it so that I could no longer afford to see them, but I was already starting to look for a new psych when that happened.

Excellent Psychiatrist - No Nonsense Kind of Guy
Dr. Christiansen is direct, honest, and caring. He doesn't waste either your time or his and perhaps that offends some folks. I appreciate that he is highly accomplished, willing to try different medications until the best one is found for whatever the condition of the patient. My appointments seldom last more than five minutes and that is long enough to review what is currently working or not working in terms of meds. He listens carefully and acts with efficiency. Don't confuse prompt and expedient treatment with not caring.

He screamed in my face! The most traumatizing experience I’ve ever had with a doctor. My therapist and psychiatrist I have now say they all absolutely hate him. That’s why he needs his own private practice. No one wants to work with him. I’m looking into suing the monster.

He does not know how to keep perception refills current. The office is unaware of what to do when a Pharmacy requests a refill. Phone answering training is desperately needed for this office. I am convinced they think it is a music station playing when the phone rings.

Never refills on time for daily medication which is used to treat depression. This is a chronic, dangerous issue.

He is aggressive and rude. I haven’t seen him once where he wasn’t screaming at someone. I’ve heard from other former patients of his that he abused them too. There’s a reason he has to have his own little office serprate from the hospital. He’s a horrible human being. The kind of doctor you have nightmares about. Other doctors and therapists have a very poor opinion of him. Every mental health professional I’ve spoken with about this man doesn’t like him.

I have never dealt with a more judgmental, uninformed medical professional in my life. I came with a medical diagnosis of a condition and he completely ignored it and decided to treat me for something else. Please, if you have bipolar disorder do not come to this man. He doesn't believe in it and told that to me day one. He prescribed things against my diagnosis and landed me in the hospital. I was treated at another location with bipolar meds and I'm fine now. Because it's real. STAY AWAY.

I've always had a great experience at this office. The staff and Dr are very good at what they do. They are straight forward and to the point. I like that about them, no nonsense. I trust Dr. Darin completely, he works hard to understand your needs.

His bedside manner leaves alot to be desired, he is rude and front desk is too. He does not listen and is very short with his time and his effort. His answer at every appointment has been to increase dosage of an SSRI when depression IS NOT the predominant concern. He does not like to be questioned or challenged about his choice of drug therapy. Entire office is just a shady front for a psychological care office and I have zero confidence in the care that has been provided here. Vigilance!
