Dr. Darlene Popat, MD

Seemed like she had her mind made up from the beginning that I needed a pacemaker because of my low heart rate, despite me being an avid cyclist. The low heart rate is the only symptom I have. She ordered a nuclear stress test, echocardiogram and a month of wearing a Boston Scientific heart monitor (same company that sells pacemakers; no conflict of interest there!). Additionally wanted me to do a sleep study, which I refused. After completing the stress test (12 minutes Bruce protocol) and echocardiogram, she referred me to a group of cardiologists that specialize in implanting pacemakers. I didn’t schedule an appointment with them. If I ever have any symptoms, other than the low heart rate, I’ll see a cardiologist that specializes in treating cyclists. Her front office rarely answers the phone and if they do, they put you on a forever hold. Took 5 calls before getting through to cancel my follow up appointment!

I was very impressed how quickly they got me in for urgent test,office is beautiful and Dr.GO is extremely welcoming and friendly and you can just feel her passion to her job. They went above and beyond to help me. They are so organized!! The receptionist is a huge part of the team and is very competent at getting things done. After dealing with so many poorly run doctors due to my bad insurance, this one was a great surprise.

She was honest and forthcoming with my condition and treatment.
