Dr. Darren Rothschild, MD

Dr. Rothschild is sincere in his treatment of patients. He has his patients best interest in mind for long term success. He explains his treatment plan in a way you can understand and is compassionate with your concerns. You can tell he truly cares.

Highly would not recommend him. Can not establish a rapport with a patient and question his qualifications to provide adequate care.

I am from a family of physicians and Dr. Rothschild was recommended to me by my psychologist. He does a thorough intake exam and changed my medications completely, even recommending a third psychologist specialist. He is Duke University trained and well educated and experienced in all the pharmaceuticals. Also knows great area psychologists. Highly recommend. Life changing! Also, wonderful office staff - a real person answers the phone during business hours!

I have been engaged in psychiatric care with Dr. Rothschild for years. My initial evaluation was very thorough, addressing all medical, emotional, and behavioral health history; and the ongoing treatment plan is carefully monitored through regular office visits. Dr. Rothschild is always on time for appointments, and offers virtual appointments. Because of Dr. Rothschild's medical knowledge and care for his patients, my diagnosis coupled with effective treatment have truly been life-changing. Not good at establishing a rapport with teenage patients. Not well versed in ADHD compared to other physicians in the area. Not willing to advocate for his patients. Pompous. Find another provider.

I have been seeing Dr Rothschild for 7 years and have been very satisfied with my treatment. He is the first doctor who correctly diagnosed my condition as bipolar after many previous doctors had treated me for depression only. Since being on the proper medication, I have been stable and have not experienced any extreme mood swings. For this I am very grateful to Dr Rothschild and recommend him highly.

Dr Rothschild does a thorough initial evaluation and makes sure he has a full understanding of your situation and needs before suggesting treatment, which may include talk therapy as well as medications. He is very knowledgeable about medication options and will discuss the pros & cons of any treatment and include you in the decision-making process. He is personable, kind, and will guide & support you through any medication adjustment needed. He considers your whole life circumstances & listens!

This is the most arrogant, condesending, uncompasionate, person (not doctor) I have every encountered. Unfortunately I paid $$$$$$ (doesn't take insurance) for a total lack of competent treatment for my suicidal son. His treatment instruction was call the police and have them take him to ER. What is he getting paid for.? We waited 6 weeks to see this ? only to be insulted and berated. He has made my son suffer beyond comprehension, not even an attempt to give him relief.

One word comes to mind when I think of Dr. Rothschild - thorough. I have been suffering from depression and addiction for years and Dr. Rothschild specializes in both. Very comprehensive initial meeting - over 2hours gathering background information and your concerns. Finds the right medication for you. Discusses all potential side effects and answers all questions. Makes great recommendations of things that could help outside of the medication. The office manager, Naomi is great.

Dr. Rothschild has been an exceptional doctor for me. He has dealt with difficult situations with ease and caring. He's very talented, and I haven't ever looked back after leaving another very bad provider in the area. I think he's the best in the area; we're lucky to have him. I trust him completely and would (and have) recommended him to friends and family.
