very unreliable appointment scheduling
I went to Dr. Adams for about 10 years but recently moved to a new primary care doctor. I had two routine annual checkups scheduled way in advance in recent years, but the front desk canceled each without any warning until I showed up on the days of these appointments. Yet a couple of days ahead of each appointment, the office sent one of those stern recordings to my phone saying I had an appointment and I’d be billed if I miss it. It took many months to reschedule the first checkup; the second was never rescheduled even though I called back several times. Not a practice that seems interested in my basic health care needs.

DO NOT GO HERE!
Do not go here. Dr. Adams himself has NO personality or bedside manner and there is a revolving door of other providers. Every time I go there, the PA I liked is no longer there. After 15 years of being a patient, and moving to Wilmington, they refused to extend an important (non-addictive) prescription and never even bothered to call me back - after 2 weeks and multiple inquiries. Highly suggest YOU AVOID!

Knowledgeable if he actually shows up
I was a patient for over 15 yrs. The last 2 yrs I scheduled my physical at 11am (Dr. Adams first slot). Yr 1 he made me wait 1.5 hours and he took 4 weeks to deliver lab results. Yr 2 Dr. Adams had me wait over 1.5 hrs, his staff even had me switch rooms and then he called on sick. It seems like regardless of who the patient is you could call your own office by 10:30AM that isn't all that early. He personally has not called or emailed to apologize for either occasion. I stayed with him initially because he does seem knowledgeable but who has time for a doctor that wastes yours and then doesn't show. I did get my blood work drawn a week and a day in advance and they still couldn't deliver all my results (their instructions and other docs who use labcorp get it done in 48hrs). If you want to go to a doctor who will charge you if you no show or it is a problem for you to be late and then they don't show after you wait 1.5 hours this is your office.

Dr. Adams and his staff do a great job of being available for my questions and concerns in between appointments. I saw them for an upper respiratory issue and had a great experience scheduling (next day availability) and being properly diagnosed (will update) and medicated to get rid of the problem.

I have been a patient for over 13 years and although I think Dr. Adams is very knowledgeable, and really listens and cares about your health. However, you don't leave a patient waiting for over three hours to see the doctor and not offer an explanation or offer the patient the opportunity to reschedule. I had to ask what the problem was, then after over three hours of waiting I left without ever seeing the doctor and have not been back. Not the first time this happened, but it's the last.

I have been going to this practice for 16 years. i have had to wait sometimes up to 2 hours in the ;waiting room to be seen by Dr. Adams; then they are times he would say something and not even know my medical history. There also has been such a turn over in this office staff; the staff is rude and they say that they have called you but it is not so; my phone tells the truth. I was told by one of his office staff that the reason that there is such a turn over is because he has a very bad temper

Dr. David Adams has been my doctor for over 20 years and I wouldn't change that for the world. He has always been so thorough with my care and yes I to have been in the exam room waiting for him longer than normal but let me tell you he is worth the wait. This man has been through personal challenges through the years since I have been with him however, he is so humble and cares dearly for his patients. May the Lord continue to bless him.

Dr Adams has been my doctor for over 18 years. He spends as much time as each patient needs to appropriately address their needs and concerns. I don't know of a more caring physician or anyone better at diagnosing complex conditions. The wait is worth it.

Dr. Adams has been my primary doctor for over 20 years. I trust him with my life. Yes, it may take a bit of waiting time to see him....but, that's is because he spends whatever time is necessary to meet the needs of his patients. For an annual physical, he spent well over 1 hour with me, his entire staff had already left for the day. When I broke my leg 5 years ago on a Sunday and Wake Med Cary wanted to send me home, he interceded (returned my call in 5 minutes) and admitted me himself.

Dr. Adams has been my doctor for over 15 years and I could not imagine a better person to work with me on my healthcare needs. His attention to detail and his commitment to stay current with the latest medical technologies is just a part of what makes him a great doctor. He has a fantastic bedside manor both in his office and in the hospital. He will listen to his patients even when they are being a bit difficult, like me sometimes.

Dr. Adams rarely sees patients but he has multiple PAs there doing his work who are more than happy to suggest expensive unnecessary tests. I went in for a routine physical and they did an EKG. This seems odd, but anyway I had an abnormal one (these can vary on any given day) so they sent me over to Cary Cardiology for a stress test. This was odd also since there were no other markers for heart problems. The stress test cost me $1000 out-of-pocket and they found nothing. Don't waste you money!
