If you need shoulder replacement, don't put it off for 9 years like I did. The entire experience of being under the care of Dr. Adkison and his team far exceeded my expectations. Less time, less inconvenience and far less pain during recovery than I expected. On a personal note, Dr. Adkison loves talking about shoulders and is passionate about healing people and restoring functionality to their shoulders. He is a great listener and explained everything to my satisfaction. Highly recommended!

Dr. Adkison is top in his class for explaining everything from the operation to recovery . I could not give a higher rating for my shoulder surgery & his post operation visits. He also has an incredible staff with Tammy & Karen / PA.

Unfortunately, he does not accept my insurance. However, Susan was prompt in returning my voice/text messages. My nephew is a physical therapist and he is amazed at the post-op recovery for Dr. A's patients as compared to other orthopods. Looking at reviews...not one negative about his knowledge or skills. That's why I was ready to travel from NC to B'ham for that expertise. Sorry it didn't work out.

I can't praise Dr. Atkinson enough regarding my shoulder surgery. Throughout the whole process he was very personable, taking the time to explain every step of the surgical process. After surgery, during my follow-up visits, he seemed to truly care about my progress with physical therapy. Thank you Dr. Atkinson, for helping me regain use of my right arm!

Dr Adkison took the time to help me understand my injury and my options. He was very knowledgeable and unrushed! He showed me the tools used to repair my shoulder and explained the studies behind them and why these were the new and best way for the surgery. He also agreed that I should not have surgery until I felt it was an Absolut necessity. I elected not to have a surgery and he agreed that was the correct course of action.
