Dr. David Aguiar, MD

Very poor bedside manners. He did not listen to my concerns. For someone who exclusively works with women he sure did make me feel unheard and stupid. What a waste of my copay. Ive been to others at the practice and have never had an issue.

I feel safe and comfortable with him. I trust his judgment and he always works with the utmost care. I drive almost an hour now to my appointments with him when he changed practices

With my first kid he was there for an emergent c section after a failure to progress with a natural delivery and now I’m back with baby 2 and I am so grateful he will be part of this journey. He is always so kind and listens to everything you have to say. I always feel comfortable discussing things with him. He is a fantastic doctor.

I am actually from Nebraska and we moved here to Illinois and I feel blessed that I found Dr.Aguiar as my obgyne.He is very prompt and has a good bedside manner.He does not rush me.So far I am well taken care off.

I saw him once and did not want to see him ever again. Front desk said there’s a chance he might be the one on-call when I go into labor. So I am switching to a different group for that reason. He wasn’t warm nor professional. He asked questions about my medical history and when I answered, he made a face like he was a 10 year old boy. I’ve seen many male doctors in the past and he’s the only doctor that ever made me feel super uncomfortable. Luckily I had my husband with me. Definitely avoid seeing him.

There is nothing glaringly egregious about how Dr. Aguiar conducts himself, but he has no bedside manner and shows a genuine lack of compassion when addressing his patients. His approach is overly clinical. I understand that he's an MD, but it doesn't excuse you from treating your patients without empathy. It's jarring to see his demeanor when I've had positive experiences with every other Dr. and Nurse Practitioner in the practice. Any time I would go in to see him for an appointment, I felt like he was rushing to get me out of the door. He filled out my medical exemption paperwork incorrectly. When I brought it to his attention, he questioned me and why I needed it in a way that made me feel invalidated and it made me less comfortable asking him for medical advice. I would hope that most doctors speaking with first-time mothers would want to avoid making their patients feel that way, especially if their job is to make pregnancy and delivery as safe as possible for mother and baby.

Going into this biopsy appointment, I was extremely nervous. Dr. Aguiar was very understanding and helpful at points where I would be experiencing pain. He answered questions I didn't even know I had! I felt very relieved coming out of the procedure. I would recommend Dr. Aguiar!

I had not met him before my procedure and I was very anxious about it. He explained beforehand what he was going to do and what I would feel. I felt he was really concerned about my anxiety and tried to put me at ease as much as possible. His nurse even came in to hold my hand, fan my face and talk me thru it. Definitely a caring doctor and office staff!!!!!

I have had several ob-gyn doctors and Dr. Aguiar is by far the best. He listens to your concerns and answers all of your questions. He has a calming nature and makes you feel at ease right away. I had a D&C and he explained the procedure thoroughly. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I had a medical procedure scheduled with Dr. Aguiar. I had not previously met him, however, I felt comfortable with him as he explained the steps to be taken. He took his time, explaining in detail and asking if I had any questions or discomfort. Most important, he listened to me and answered my questions. I would definitely recommend him.

I had an excessively painful, prolonged, and traumatic experience in the past (with a different physician) during a Mirena IUD insertion a few years ago, and consequently had extreme anxiety about getting my IUD removed, especially because the strings were not visible. I was specifically referred to Dr. Aguiar for IUD removal by an NP who had worked with him in the past, because I was told he was very understanding and empathetic re: patient concerns, and not resistant to being proactive in regards to pain prevention/management (as many other providers seem to be.) It was my first time seeing Dr. Aguiar today, and I can say that through the entire process I felt listened to, and he took every possible measure to ensure that my experience with removal would not be anything like the horrific insertion experience I had elsewhere. I almost cried after the removal was complete, simply due to the immense gratitude I felt for the respect and compassion Dr. Aguiar displayed throughout the entire appointment. Highly highly recommend this physician. Thank you Dr. Aguiar.

Dr Aguiar is a very good / well rounded Doctor. He is very compassionate, professional and he takes his time to answer all our questions. He made feel us comfortable all through the pregnancy till I gave birth.

This was my first appointment with Dr. Agular who saw me when my doctor took an emergency leave. I appreciated the very short wait before he entered my exam room. His friendly, caring and professional manner made me feel comfortable.

I was a patient of Dr Aguiar when he was with Northwestern medicine. I heard from my primary doctor that he was no longer with them and I was heartbroken as I didn't want to "lose" him as my doctor. After a little research I was able to "find" him and I'm so glad I did. I just had my annual appointment with him last week. He is such a kind, caring doctor. He is the "whole package" as he is knowledgeable and has great bedside matter. He always takes the time to sit down and talk to his patients. nd not only talk but actually listen to his patients which unfortunately not all doctors know how to do. And I concern myself a doctor "expert" as I work with many doctors at a hospital.

I had a very poor experience with another doctor, and then I found Dr. Aguiar! My first appt was great-he sat and conversed with me for 15+ mins before he started the exam. I knew he heard me (as well as correctly diagnosing me!) Dr. Aguiar is always professional & focused, and on a personal level he is so kind! I also find him to be quite insightful. I always feel like I'm given sufficent time to talk. If I need any add'l info between appointments, I send him a message thru the portal and he gets back to me asap. I'm so fortunate to have found him!

Before I found Dr. Aguiar, I had difficulty finding a gynecologist in my new area that was knowledgeable, responsive or available. I would encounter doctors with 2-4 weeks before I could get a basic appointment or who misdiagnosed basic issues. Dr. Aguiar is a gem. He is calm, knowledgeable and kind. His responsiveness is unparalleled. I had an urgent issue and he got me into his office right away, took time to listen, SOLVED the issue that three other doctors could not and absolutely calmed my nerves. I've had a baby and never received a phone call from my doctor that delivered her. With Dr. Aguiar, he called three times to try to reach me to follow up before I picked up. He went through all of my questions thoroughly. I have never spent so much time on the phone with a doctor in my life. I wasn't treated like a number or a paycheck. I was treated like you wish all doctors treated patients. I wish I could give more than five stars. Thank you, Dr. Aguiar.

He delivered my first child and to this day I cannot get over the unprofessionalism and lack of consideration Dr Aguilar had while I went through this important time of my life.

Dr. Aguiar is understanding, kind and professional. He has fantastic bedside manner and shows compassion. We're so happy he delivered our 4 babies!
