Terrible experience
He is clearly uncomfortable and lacks any experience treating pregnant patients. He also believes that pulmonary emboli cause no pain and his advice to my pregnant wife with multiple PE’s was to “tough it out” or “sign out AMA and go find your own opiates”. Ego has no place in medicine, and not being willing to consult OB before making an uninformed decision regarding patient care is reckless and irresponsible. If you don’t know, CONSULT! His attitude was disgusting. Multiple Nurses, even Nurse Management, made statements that eluded to the fact that this was no isolated incident, that he has a reputation for treating patients poorly.
