Dr. David Alonzo, MD

Upon meeting Dr. Alonzo for the first time, he introduced himself, shook hands and then sat down on the little stool and rolled right up to my husband. He proceeded to ask questions and put my husband at ease, which isn't an easy job for any Doctor to do. He explained what and how he intended to do the surgery. We really like and respect Dr. Alonzo. Good job Doc!

Dr. Alonzo is a caring and compassionate physician. He helped my father Albert when another urologist gave him no other option but surgery. My father has been cancer free for 4 years now. I hope him and his team know just how much my family and I appreciate everything they have done. From the bottom of our hearts thank you.

Does not return calls..hour and half to 2 hr late all the time

Dr. Alonzo treated my husband for kidney cancer. He gave us the confidence, reassurance and hope for his surgery. He took the time to explain the procedure and gave us hope after seeing other doctors. We trusted him for his mannerism his faith and his way of putting things in simple terms. We are forever grateful for Dr. Alonzo.

He did not always return calls and gave little advice, but his biopsy did confirm that I had prostate cancer. He insisted I get radiation therapy with a dhr physician who I would not recommend. I am told he is the only prostate surgeon in the McAllen, Tx. area, and I heard good things about his work, but he did not allow me to have the prostate removed, so I can’t fairly comment on that. He didn’t tell me how badly the hormone therapy would affect me physically…….I definitely could have used a heads-up on that. There appeared to be confusion about how many hormone treatments I was supposed to get. He sounded very pleased to be rid of my case when he assigned me a oncologist.

Dr. Alonzo is truly a professional with a sincere bedside manner. While treating a relative for a severe aggressive form of cancer he was available every step of the unknown road ahead. He is one of the most knowledgable Drs in his field.
