My mother was visiting Houston and needed some unexpected pulmonary care before returning home. This office was extremely accommodating, efficient in everything they did and expressed nothing but honest care and kindness. Dr Chao was very attentive, detailed and listened well. He accomplished far more in a single visit than I would have ever expected bringing physical and emotional relief to someone that needed it. I would recommend him and his team without reservation to anyone needing care within his skill sets.

Dr Chao is great! Very knowledgeable. His front office staff is a disaster. Phones are NEVER answered. You can sit in the waiting room and just listen to them ring and ring. Answering machine is almost always full. If you get to leave a message it is not returned. Always an excuse for their poor performance. I had to go to the office without an appointment to get my situation resolved after a month of waiting. Offices are a cluttered mess. Dr Chao....upgrade your staff or say goodbye to your patients!

The only reason I would not recommend Dr. Chao is because of his nurse. She has put me through months of worry because she does not do her job. First it was sending the proper papers for Medicare to approve my oxygen. It took a month and half to get her to do it. Then it was my nebulizer meds that Medicare pays for. After two months she still has not sent in the proper paper work to get Medicare approval. The day before my appointment she call to say everything was done but now two weeks after my appointment she still has not sent in the proper paper work. For two months she has lying to me over and over again about the paper work. I believe she told me just so I would not be so mad and tell the Dr. how she had been lying to me and not doing her job. Unless Dr Chao gets a better nurse who cares about his patients I would not recommend anyone going to him.

Dr. Chao was highly recommended to me. I was not disappointed, although I have only seen him for the first time today since we recently moved to Texas. I have been using a CPAP machine for several years, but needed to find a new pulmonologist here. He is very patient and considerate and he took the time to carefully discuss my issues with sleep apnea and the variety of CPAP masks that are available to me and which ones I might find most acceptable given my own sleep patterns.

Dr Zhao treated both me and my husband. During the entire course of our treatment, he was extremely caring, taking our calls, explaining symptoms and outcomes with great detail, and quickly adjusting treatment plans as our conditions change. He is very knowledgeable in latest development of medicine, and warm-hearted towards patients. We are so lucky to have him as our specialist and very grateful for his excellent and superior service. Thank you! Dr. Zhao

Dr Chao saved my life along with his staff from Covid-19. He was always visiting everyday at the hospital ensuring I was getting the latest medicines and recommending the next procedures for me. Dr Chao is also my pulmonologist specialist where he is treating me with a pre-existing condition. His nurse at his office is fantastic! Highly recommend!!!

I have the greatest confidence in Dr. David Chao which is why I have already recommended him to one of my friends. He answers all of my questions & never seems to be in a rush to move on to the next patient. I feel completely satisfied after my appointment. There are no unanswered questions, doubts, or confusion. All of his staff are very caring & professional, especially Mandy, who was friendly, accommodating & kind. I will never forget her efficient responses to my phone calls.

Do not come to this doctor because the office lady is so rude. I have been tried to make appointment for one month and still cannot succeed. My primary doctor office faxed referral letter to Dr. Chao's office and they keep asking for the letter. I asked them to double check the fax machine to see if they have received the letter. They asked me to find another doctor. Can you believe it?

This doctor right here is the prime example of what a doctor should be! Very sharp and one of the biggest hearts you will ever find. When he steps into the examination room, he will not exit until he is sure he has taken care of me in every way he can. A good man, a good friend, and an incredible doctor.

I was having a hard time finding the right Pulmonologist and sleep medicine physician for my mom ever since we moved to Sugar land area. I was humbled by the amazing care provided by Dr. Chao. I was able to personally coordinate my mom's appointment from far away and mom had nothing but the best things to say about Dr. Chao's bedside care, empathy and compassion. He spent an extended amount of time with her to make her feel taken care of. She left the office with clear plan about her health.
