Colectomy
I was extremely pleased with the outcome of my surgery with Dr. Dietz. Dr. Dietz was very reassuring and eased any concerns I had even though my surgery was somewhat complicated. I recommend his service to anyone.

I have had several abdominal surgeries as a result of ulcerative colitis. The experience this time with Dr. Dietz, Vicki Rumpler, CNP as well as everyone I had contact with, was outstanding! When I think of my past experiences, this is such a breath of fresh air!

Dr. Dietz and his team are outstanding. They took care of me when no one else wanted to touch me because of my surgical history. He was recommended to me by a local surgeon and I travelled to Cleveland to to meet with him and subsequently have surgery. It was the best surgical experience I've ever had and am very happy with the results. His team has also been excellent during follow up visits and very accessible.

I am left with having to rely on laxatives after my surgery with Dietz. I was given no information on LARS syndrome which I absolutely have as a result of surgery. Terrible follow up and I now see another colorectal dr to try and figure out and live with this mess

I literally don't have words to describe how phenomenal Dr. Dietz is. It's no exaggeration to say that he saved my life, and I cannot imagine having more confidence in (or gratitude toward) a healthcare provider. After my diagnosis, as we talked to more people, it became clear that no one in the country is as respected and admired when it comes to rectal cancer surgery as Dr. Dietz. In addition to being an undisputed leader in his field, he treated me with the utmost compassion and professionalism; he was calm and reassuring when I was terrified, but didn't overpromise anything. I can't recommend him highly enough! (The rest of the staff at UH -- particularly Vicki -- was incredible too!)

Dr. Dietz was an arrogant man who sliced my small intestine during a colonectomy surgery and never spoke with me again afterwards. as a result of his error I developed sepsis and almost died while at the Cleveland Clinic. I also developed blood clots in my legs and lung and an abcess in my abdomen that still causes me periodic hospitalization some two years later. I am now awaiting a fourth surgery in hopes of repairing the damage from Dr. Dietz. To date , I have never been contacted by him.
