Great Dr!
Dr Dougherty has been my doctor for several years. He is the best Dr. I have ever had. Sad that he is retiring.

Horrible doctor. Do not go to him
Horrible experience with Dr Dougherty today. I came because my right ear was giving me issues, but he was extremely short, rude and not willing to help in any way. Referred me to the ENT right away, who called me to say they were booked out until December. The nurse later came in and said that he retired two years ago but had to come back to work. She insinuated that he’s checked out and is over helping people out. I generally don’t have high expectations for many of my visits but I do expect empathy and at least acting like you care. I don’t wish my treatment on anyone. Please do not go to this doctor.

Dr. Dougherty is Amazing!
Dr. Dougherty is such a good Dr. He listens to me and request the appropriate tests or imaging. I would recommend him to anyone. He is getting close to retirement, going to miss having him as a person and my doctor!

Best Doctor in Town!
Dr. Dougherty is amazing! I have been to several doctors looking for one that would listen to me, I found that in Dr. Dougherty. He sent me out for bloodwork, followed by scans and found the problem. All the previous doctors told me my test results were 'normal'.

All my experiences with this dr and his med assts have been unsatisfying at best and utterly frustrating at worst. They seem to lack sufficient understanding of basic compassion and how to act as if they care. Basic customer service really missing. Dr orders seems to be the screen they stand behind and that with no effort to consider individual patient concerns leaves us feeling dismissed and vulnerable. Ugh. I do not recommend at all! So done.

My mother went to him in February because her skin was yellow. He said it didn't look yellow to him, so he did nothing. In March she started having serious symptoms, and in April he finally ordered a CT scan. After far too many delays and mistakes on his part, we learned she had a very treatable type of lymphoma. By that time, though, it was too late. She died in late April. Up until a month before her death she had been incredibly active and healthy. When I told Dr. Dougherty I had thought we'd have her another ten years, he laughed at me. My intellectually and physically disabled sister has also been his patient for decades. He didn't even send her a sympathy card. Now his office is in violation of HIPAA as they try to withhold my mom's medical records. I'm having to fax them the HIPAA laws on the US government site — at first they wanted to give the records only to the person who reported her death. Harebrained. That whole place.

If Dr. Dougherty didn't have a great PA, I would seek another internist. It's not what he says, but how he says it. He can be flippant and seem uncaring. At one point when I was describing an issue, he did an open mouthed yawn. Luckily, I've never had to rely on him for anything other than routine.
