Amazing..
Dr. Etzioni saved my life.. After stints in and out of several hospitals I recieved care from him and his team at the Mayo clinic in Phoenix. He is the most competent and caring doctor I have ever had.

He Fixed Another Doctors/Hospital's Mistake's
Great Doctor ! The Most Competent I have ever met. My colon Ruptured and I went to my closest hospital (It was NOT the Mayo). I developed Sepsis and spent a month there ( Gilbert M***Y ) and the treatment I received almost ended my Life. I was released with a ileostomy / Bag on my side and told to return to be reconnected in 3 months. After I was released I thought there has to be better out there, I contracted the Mayo , submitted my medical records and was told the review could take a bit of time. To my surprise I was called within a week and told that Dr. Etzioni ( Chief of Surgery Mayo Clinic Phoenix) would like to see me. In our First meeting I was told that the other surgeon had sewn my colon shut, creating a dangerous situation. He said it will take Two surgeries to get me put back together correctly. He looked to my Wife and said (" Robert has been through a lot, We will take care Him") And he did; I received the best care of my Life. Dr. Etzioni In an amazing Surgeon!

How do I love you? Let me count the ways.
1. At our first meeting my phone interrupted you, you chuckled and identified my Huey Lewis ring tone before a word was sung :-) 2. When there was a schedule conflict, you called me to work it out, not your nurse or your scheduling department! 3. You explained the procedures clearly, and answered every question with confident reassurance. What others here have called arrogance, I call competence that assured me you were capable of getting me through this life-changing surgery. 4. The hostess who brought my husband to the waiting room said he should not expect the surgeon to come and talk with him. They don't do that anymore... You do, and you took the time to answer all of his questions. I could not have asked for a better doctor or outcome!

Fantastic doc!!! Was my surgeon for colon cancer and I feel like I got the Best! Was very pleased with my treatment and I am an RN who has worked with many surgeons over many (too many to count) years. I am tough on them and couldn't find anything bad to say in this case. So glad he is the one I ended up with.

I am a surgeon who developed diverticulitis and hospitalized at another hospital. I decided that if I needed surgery I would like to go to Mayo Clinic. I had to change my insurance and the insurance of my 75 employees in order to go to Mayo Clinic. I did that and paid much more money for such insurance. I made an appointment with Dr Etzioni And when meeting him I told him that the odds of me having another attack is high and I said the reason for my visit today was for you to know who I am prior to my next attack. I developed a attack and called him on the phone and he said I don’t know what you have over the phone and I told him I was going to the emergency room. I was admitted to the hospital and not once after asking many times did he or his residents or fellow see me . The only person that saw me was an internal medicine doctor despite my frequent requests to see the colorectal surgeon team. My vascular surgeon buddy who works at Mayo told me he was not surprised. Don’t do there!!!

I credit Dr. Etzioni with saving my life. My surgery was long and I had several complications, Dr. Etzioni’s skill, experience and knowledge were apparent in performing and repairing my ileostomy. His bedside manner is just wonderful. I recommend him without hesitation.

Dr Etzoni is a great surgeon. He was on my surgery team for a recent abdominal surgery. Turned out the situation was much more complicated than anticipated but the doctor was great. Very through, explained what was done and provided compassionate care. I could not ask for more from a doctor and I have a very complicated medical/surgical history so I’ve been treated by many doctors. Dr Etzoni is a gem in my book. Thank you.

My name is Erik Becker and I had precancerous cells in my colon due to crohn's/colitis. I chose Dr. Etzioni as my surgeon and my operation and recovery went amazing! I am writing this 4 years after, now 25, because I have a 1 year old. I feel like Etzioni's expertise is the reason why I am here today and enjoying life with my fiance and son!

Dr. E is amazing! He is a skilled and talented surgeon who I believe save my husband's life. He takes the time to explain things clearly, has an amazing team around him, and even took the time to personally call to check in a few days after the surgical procedure. We feel lucky to have found him. Highly recommended!

I decided to go to Mayo to discuss my options for a reconnection after losing my entire colon to toxic mega colon and was luckily placed in the skilled and caring hands of this wonderful surgeon. I was very reluctant to have the surgery as I thought that the outcome could be worse than having an iliostomy bag, but Dr. Etzioni, with his calm reassurance and steady confidence changed my mind. He is an amazing surgeon with an excellent, positive, and funny bed side manner. He gave me my life back!
