This office scheduled my father with dementia for a last minute appt which we were grateful for. Once he saw Dr Ewing however we wished that we'd just gone back to KU instead. My father's care team have all been on very different pages in regards to his long term dementia care plan. In total conflict with the incredible dementia team at KU, Dr Ewing stated that he thinks dad is not incapacitated, just needs in patient psychiatric care. The mosaic ER Psychiatrist disagreed so dad was never admitted to psych care. After half a dozen calls and messages in my chart wherein I asked the team to convene and get on the same page and let us know how to proceed with dads housing, driving, and safety plan they simply called us and said dads case had been handed over to hospital attorneys. What in the world is this so-called "healthcare" that Mosaic offers? We will be making the (very) long drive to KU as the care, wisdom and professionalism received there is worlds away from what Mosaic offers.

cancelled needed procedure
He stood in the way, did not let the patient get an MRI recommended by another doctor to assess his medical issues, and even cancelled the appointment.

Terrible
Dr. Ewing is extremely unprofessional and so is his nurse! He doesn’t listen, appointment notes are always wrong! You do things his way or no way! Took 2 months to get a prior authorization for extremely important meds because his nurse didn’t send in the paperwork! Fortunately, the drug company let me have 2 infusions free while this office continued to drop the ball! Had, what we thought was an MS exacerbation and he scheduled and MRI and walked out of the room with no communication! Orders weren’t getting sent for necessary blood testing! I’ve talked to others who have seen him and haven’t found a single person who hasn’t had problems with this doctor! He’s dismissive and talks down to his patients because he thinks he knows it all. Best thing I ever did was get a new neurologist.

Total waste of time. Very rude, does not listen, no help whatsoever. Avoid and find a better option in Kansas City.

My father has been seeing Dr. Ewing for several years. Just recently I had to begin taking him to his appointments. I have found that Dr. Ewing is great with my father. He really listens when to him and always tells us the truth even if it's not what we want to hear. He talks to my father in a way that he can understand and I truely appreciate that. Wonderful doctor!

He was extremely rude and dismissive. Waited 2 months to see him after two strokes and was told the memory issues and confusion were caused by depression.

Was referred 2 him by my neurologist n OP 2 have an EMG as it was an hr closer. He acted as if he was my dr. After a couple of quest’s, he had me diagnosed b4 the EMG. I mentioned a video of my severe nerve pain that he didn’t care 2 see. His bedside manner was atrocious. I showed it 2 him anyway & changed his mind. If he’d asked more questions & listened 2 me, he would’ve known. After the EMG, he ordered an MRI of my cervical spine, nerve pain is n my thigh. I went & day after, w/o hearing a word from their office, rec’d an auto text inform’g me I was scheduled 4 an MRI of my brain!! I called office & she answered the phone laugh’g, loud laughter n the background. So unprofessional. I was told his nurse was out 2day. I’m supposed 2 wonder all weekend why an MRI ordered of my brain? Was lied 2 about his nurse not being there, she called back within mins, read 2 me what was found on the MRI-gibberish. LSS, called my actual dr, they’re handling it. I’ll drive 90 min 4 anymore tests.

Absolutely horrible and rude neurologist. Went to him for a second opinion for my MS diagnosis. He tells me o don't have it because the lesions aren't in the correct spots. I told him about my sleep apnea and waking up with major headaches. This man puts me on Topiramate. I noticed in my patient portal of my medical records with him he claimed to have done different tests to check balance and strength. He straight up lied. Not one time did he do a test on me. His bedside manner is Horrible. Never looked up at me once while he was typing away on his computer. The problems I explained to him he never documented. He kept pushing Topiramate saying there is nothing wrong with me. So I decided to get a third opinion. My first diagnosis was correct and this shady doctor didn't want to mess with it. Save yourself the time and trouble. Best thing I ever did was find another doctor.
