Dr. David Gerding, MD

I saw Dr. Gerding on a surgery referral from my primary physician. The preliminary diagnosis was an inguinal hernia. First, I got to the office about 10 minutes before my appointment, checked in through my phone and was taken back early. The nurse who did vitals was super nice and efficient. (I didn't catch her name.) Dr. Gerding took the time to explain what an inguinal hernia was as well as the different types of hernias and how differing levels of hernia will dictate the required action as well as the urgency. He then performed the exam which was more thorough than with the primary care physician. In the end, the new diagnosis was that it was a sports hernia (not an inguinal hernia) and didn't require surgery. And while he felt confident in the diagnosis, he offered that we could confirm the diagnosis with imaging if I needed "proof." He put me on anti-inflammatory meds and I'm feeling better. He answered all of my questions and I never felt rushed.
