Dr. David Hakkarinen, MD

I had one of the worst medical experiences of my life with this provider. As a pregnant patient presenting with pain, elevated vital signs, and respiratory symptoms, I received no meaningful clinical evaluation. He glanced in my ears, didn’t examine my throat or nose, didn’t listen to my heart, and only touched a stethoscope to the top of my lungs—after I pointed out that no lung exam had been done. No fetal assessment, no questions about fetal movement, no consideration of hydration status or overall well-being.What’s worse: discharge orders were placed before the nurse even entered the room. After I voiced concern, the doctor returned—not to reassess, but to defensively explain why he hadn’t done more. It was unprofessional, dismissive, and frankly unsafe.

Very wrongful notes concerning my ED visit. Not at all aware of my condition and pain level. Both my hands are numb up to my shoulders and both my feet up to my knees are numb. He writes in his notes “ no numbness “. I believe he has gotten his patients mixed up.l understand Doctors in the ER experience high levels of stress, but to mix up patients is unacceptable.

I was lucky enough to have Dr. Hakkarinen as my Physician when I came in after having a severe anaphylactic reaction. He was calm cool and he and his staff saved my life.

Competent care when confronted with evidence of a life threatening condition, but blinded by GOMER syndrome. Over reliance on subordinate staff, instead of managing them.
