My surgery to repair a hiatal hernia was successful, but my post-op care h nas been less than satisfactory! I went for my 6 week post-op visit, had several concerns - chronic nausea, food getting stuck in my esophagus, early satiety, horrible indigestion. On his progress note, he put "Per patient doing well". He ordered an Upper GI series ( not sure what the diagnosis would be since "I had no complaints!" ) I subsequently have to have my esophagus dilated because the lower esophagus is too narrow. When I sent a message to his nurse, no response. He hasn't looked at my incisions once since surgery. How can he write "incisions soreness should resolve"? I had no complaints of soreness. I am not a happy patient!!

Excellent bedside manner, wonderful listener, complications-free gall bladder removal. He helped set my heart at ease. From start to finish, this was an amazing experience with Dr. Harrell. He’s an excellent listener and an even better surgeon. We have seen a lot of doctors, and Dr. Harrell and his team are the best we’ve encountered. Would highly recommend him.

On 02-07-17 Dr. Harrell did a Laparoscopy, Nissen Fundoplication for me. In my opinion Dr. Harrell is as good of a surgeon as one will find. The first two weeks of recovery is a little tough but it is well, well, worth it. Reflux is history! I'm left to wonder why I waited so long to have it done.

Dr. Harrell is very friendly, professional and personable. He is patient and open to any questions the patient may have. He does not make the patient feel rushed. My operation was a hiatal hernia partial fundoplication laparoscopy done robotically. I had absolutely no complications in recovery and stayed well ahead of schedule as far as healing, returning to normal diet, etc..

I had a hernia surgery with another doctor that went well but the incision would not heal correctly. After seeing my family physician several times to have the area looked at, he recommended Dr. Harrell. On the first visit, he figured out that I had 2 stalpes and a stitch lodged in the incision that wouldn't allow it to heal. He plucked them out on the spot and the incision healed after about a week. He is professional, courteous and very helpful.

Undergoing emergency surgery is pretty rough. Dr. Harrell made the experience more endurable with his calm reassurance, invaluable knowledge of the issue (perforated bowel), willingness to answer any and all questions and concerns, and easy and professional guidance of his team! The best thing? His placing the power of God at the forefront of healing! That reassurance has made this time a blessing for all involved! He is a great surgeon because of Our Great Physician!!!

Dr. Harrell and his staff are EXCELLENT! He is a very kind, skilled, knowledgeable, warm and caring physician. Sitting down with me to answer all my questions not only before surgery, but also after. His staff was WONDERFUL as well, contacting me to see how I was doing, and if I had any questions, problems or concerns. My post op check was just as great with all the same kindness etc. always shown to me. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. HARRELL. What a wonderful wonderful Doctor and staff !
