He did my surgery and my new oncologist was impressed, said he did a great job. There was a picture of him and his dog at Hope cancer center. They both had unruly hair. They could have won a dog look alike contest . I trust people more that have a dog.

When you first see Dr. Hetzel, he looks like he just rolled out of bed. Hair is a curly mess and beard is unshaven and not trimmed at all. He can be awkward and may not explain everything in plain language. However, he is an amazing surgeon. His bedside manner may not be the best, but his skills are amazing and that's what really matters. My primary care doctor said if it was his wife in my position (I had a lumpectomy due to breast cancer) he would want him as her surgeon. I would recommend him

after waiting to speak with him in his office for over an hour, he entered being cordial but his demeanor was quick, short, and demeaning. he did not review history or listen to my concerns and insisted that i have a physical exam after nothing was found on an extensive ultrasound. i will never go to this fat, sloppy, unprofessional, egotistical ahole again nor will i recommend him. maybe one of the other doctors in this practice will do a better job.
