Total Thyroidectomy and Neck Dissection
I had the privilege of having Dr. Hughes as my surgeon for a total thyroidectomy and a follow-up procedure due to a recurrent infected lymph node from papillary thyroid cancer. Dr. Hughes and his team were exceptional throughout the entire process. Their professionalism, expertise, and compassionate care made an incredibly challenging situation manageable. Dr. Hughes’s bedside manner and thorough explanations gave me complete confidence that choosing him and the UM hospital system was the right decision, even when we had other options. I highly recommend Dr. Hughes for his expertise and dedication.

Dr. Hughes was my surgeon for a total thyroidectomy. He is professional, caring, highly competent, and I would 100% recommend him to friends & family. He took time to explain the surgery/possible complications, answered all of my questions, and completed my surgery timely and without complications. I am forever grateful that he was my surgeon and also very satisfied with the outcome of my surgery.

Provided a second opinion and throughly explained everything. He performed my thyroid surgery and helped me navigate the next steps following my cancer diagnosis. Since I live 8 hours away, his staff helped to schedule my appointments for the week I was in town.
