This was my first time visiting this facility. My waiting time was very short. I was seen very quickly by Dr. Johnson, who listened to my concerns, understood that I did NOT like needles and talked me through my fears so quickly that I barely knew I’d had two. Everyone was very pleasant.

My total hip replacement was a highly complex case involving severe bone narrowing, advanced arthritis, and a 5 cm leg length discrepancy. Dr. David B. Johnson Jr., DO is excellent! Dr. Johnson's bedside manor is the best. I can not thank him enough. He thoroughly explained each step of the way both prior and after surgery. His staff is phenomenal and put me at ease throughout the process. After extensive research Dr. Johnson gained my trust. Not only did I have my right hip replacement but 3 months later I had my left hip replacement. My surgeries were both scheduled early morning and on both dates I was home that afternoon. (Not to mention walking up 13 stairs to my condo the same day) My ability to run, walk, hike, bicycle, work out and enjoy every day activities was restored. Dr. David B Johnson Jr., DO THANK YOU!

Not only does Dr Johnson listen to every question, he responds with total confidence in his surgical skill without arrogance. Prior to my hip replacement, I thought constant pain was my new normal. Post surgical pain was short compared to my previous condition & 6 weeks later, I feel great! Thanks to Dr Johnson’s perfected anterior approach method, I’ve discovered a renewed interest in life that’s allowed me to return to all my favorite fun activities. And those around me enjoy seeing me smile again. His entire staff at the S. Pasadena located always made me feel welcome. I highly suggest anyone needing a new hip to seek him out, he’s awesome!!

My knee replacement surgery went flawlessly and everything, including recovery, was what Dr Johnson had told me to expect. He never ruched me and let me come to my own conclusion that my knee should be replaced. I’m convinced that he is knowledgeable in the latest techniques and products available and will describe the whole problem and replacement process is as much detail as you want to know.He is passionate about what he does and that may be the most important reason to recommend Dr Johnson, which I have done and will continue to do.

Dr Johnson is a personable, pleasant, highly skilled surgeon. Everything was perfect from the first visit until discharge after surgery. I highly recommend him if you are in need of his specialty.

Dr Johnson listened to what was important to me and offered me different advice. I decided for the total knee replacement. I was able to do pickleball, softball and tennis shortly after my surgery. I’m so happy I had my knee done with Dr Johnson. Every appointments went very well he always take the time to listen to you!

Dr. Johnson, from the very first time my 96 year old father met with him, took the time to thoroughly explain the needed procedure after breaking a hip from a fall.Thankfully due to Dr. Johnson’s expertise, we had a successful surgery and recovery.

He is very nice and very easy to understand. He always have you on the same page. Let you know exactly what’s going on.

On 4-12-24 I broke my leg. Dr Bird-Johnson performed the surgery! He has exceptional bedside manners. He knows how to make you feel like everything will be ok. As an athlete this break was probably one of the most devastating I could endure. He assured me that I will be just fine and that he would do everything he could to keep my model legs from looking too scared while insuring my bone is properly protected during healing process. What he didn’t tell me was how hard the recovery would be. I have my first follow up with him soon and look forward to truly seeing his handiwork and his artistic ability to make sure that I can not only walk again but participate in all of the extreme sports I once loved.
