Still cannot believe what happened
Today was my first visit to get some answers regarding some concerns I had. I have never felt more bashed for advocating for my health concerns by a doctor than today. I was left as if I was crazy, stupid, a bother, and was left with the impression of 'How dare you came to see me today.' Pardon my ignorance for not knowing , but that is why I came, I do not know what you know, Dr, and I needed some answers from someone who cares. I felt made fun off, and tried to make an effort not to break down in tears while the doctor repeated that he did not understand why I came to see him, I was in disbelief of how the Dr was talking to me. and it silenced me. He did not want to hear , he had already made his diagnosis before even coming through the door based on what the person who made the appointment for me wrote. I am still trying to make sense of what happened in that room today. This visit left me wondering what kind of treatment patients get. I am so sad.

Absolutely fantastic!
I was highly impressed with the cleanliness of the office, the personal attention & caring from Christi, she is one of a kind & made it clear that I was finally in good hands. What an angel she is! Dr Kahn, no words for how comfortable he made me feel. He was very thorough in explaining my diagnosis, next steps and has a wonderful sense of humor, which again, assured me I was where God meant me to be. Thank you to the entire staff seems like an understatement

Definitely Not
My Mother Maria Meure was his patient. Her name is all he needs to know why I am upset. He wouldn't listen. Saying the word stat and calling in tests saying stat, stat, good man, good man. When I as her care giver called in with relevant information regarding her condition the nurse was very nice and told me she would pass on all information to Dr Kahn and he would definitely evaluate her before administering her first day of chemo. This was the morning of. She was showing all the signs of a pre stroke. Disorientation. Vision loss, slurred speech. I took her in to Dr Kahn's with the anticipation that she wouldn't start chemo that day and I would take her to E.R. The nurse said that she relayed all the info I gave her and Dr. Kahn would evaluate before letting start chemo. When I came back in from going to the car I said well what did he say? The nurse said oh they took her straight back and hooked her right up. No Evaluation from Dr Kahn!! She had major stroke that night. She passed.

In response to the latest review. I returned the phone call of this family member myself and spoke in depth about the reasoning behind needing a biopsy to confirm diagnosis prior to initiation of treatment, as treatment cannot be initiated without a diagnosis. I understand that it is hard to deal with a family member being diagnosed with cancer and it is not something anyone wants to go through. Dr. Kahn is a very caring and competent physician who moves as quickly as possible to determine diagnosis and treatment for all of his patients.

My 87 year old mom had metastasized cancer and after reviewing the MRI, he wanted another MRI with contrast, 2 weeks later, no diagnosis or prognosis and now wanted a Pet Scan. 2 weeks later, no diagnosis or prognosis and wanted a biopsy. Tried calling the office for updates but he never called back. Finally it was too late for any treatment and he suggested hospice. He said Banner Hospice was not a great choice but he suggested Faith Hospice. I wouldn’t go with anything he suggests. Our opinion is he is not a very caring or competent doctor.

In response to the latest review, I was present during this particular visit and I find the allegations to be far from the truth. Dr. Kahn spent quite some time with this patient and her family. He explained everything in detail and answered all the patient’s questions and concerns. This patient stated she wanted to pray on her diagnosis and direction of care which is absolutely reasonable as a follow-up appointment was provided so that the patient could have time to think about her decision. The patient was informed that if she decides on treatment, our billing department would call her and explain the cost if any since all insurance companies are different. At no time was money discussed during the office visit. I understand cancer is a very touchy subject and not a conversation anybody wants to have but what was said about Dr. Kahn is simply not true. When a patient is diagnosed with cancer, Dr. Kahn cares and wants them to have the best possible outcomes.

Read through the reviews and you will find the same words: lack of compassion, arrogant, incompetent, etc. I wish I would have done the research prior to our visit. I am a healthcare professional myself and was appalled at his behavior. Zero bedside manner and no other treatment options. He basically came in, told us his treatment plan (which was HIGHLY aggressive), and wanted to get us scheduled ASAP. When we asked for some time to think, he simply said, "You don't have time". There was no talk of the diagnosis, staging, or prognosis, just that we needed to start his treatment plan immediately. When I asked about the staging, he seemed offended and gave a diagnosis that was complete different than what the radiologist reported. After some advice from medical colleagues I realized he was just an arrogant oncologist with no other interest other than making a dollar. Get a second opinion, and find someone with a heart.

The only thing he ever showed he cared about was money. We also found him to be extremely arrogant and I believe either dishonest, incompetent or both. I cannot recommend strongly enough that you find another Doctor. I could go on and on, but I just pray you find someone else.

I was new to the cancer world when I went to Dr Kahn. He was very thorough in his explanations & made sure I understood everything before he moved further in conversation. His expertise in the science of cancer is evident & he was very clear about the fact that he wanted to make sure that I went into remission in the most effective & least obtrusive way to my body. It worked! 4 treatments later I am cancer free! I can't say enough good things about his entire staff as well. Starting at the front desk with Mary Jo, as well as Ruby, Rick, and the chemo room staff of Tanya, Kyle & Lisa I was treated with compassion & great care. It was very difficult to face all this alone without my husband at my side due to Covid restrictions. I highly recommend Dr Kahn to anyone who joins the one club no one wants to join, the Cancer Club. He will guide you through your cancer journey & provide awesome care & information.

Dr. Kahn and his office staff are rude and disrespectful of everyone. They have no compassion and don't seem really interested in helping cancer patients, they want their money and that's it. If it's not his idea then it doesn't matter. My husbands colon cancer, pro-lapsed ileostomy and hernia didn't seem to matter much, so long as he got his co-pay. And Ruby his office assistant is very rude. If I could leave a negative rating I would

Dr. Kahn has been my hematologist/oncologist for going on 8 years. I have multiple myeloma. His diagnosis was right on the mark and his treatment has been exemplary. He coupled with Dr. Jeffrey Schriever and a bone marrow transplant was performed. I have returned to an almost normal life and I am grateful for Dr. Kahn's expertise in my cancer. I find him to be a compassionate, caring individual and has kept me fully informed in my disease. I would, without question, recommend him highly to anyone with my disease. This man doesn’t deserve to be a doctor. He is arrogant, condescending and rude. He lacks compassion and humanity. He won’t listen to your issues and will not answer most questions you ask. He misdiagnoses and will never admit he made a mistake. He walks around his office publicly criticizing his employees. He is a disgrace.

In 2017, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was referred to Dr. Kahn for treatment. From the beginning, Dr. Kahn clearly explained the seriousness of my disease as well as explaining the various treatments available to me to prolong my life. I appreciated his directness and honesty and he gave me hope for my future. He immediately scheduled me for surgery followed by chemotherapy which, thankfully, resulted in my cancer going into remission. In 2019 my cancer returned (as expected due to the nature of the disease) and Dr. Kahn once again prescribed chemotherapy treatment which resulted in my cancer going into remission for a second time. I am currently a Stage 4 pancreatic cancer patient in remission and leading a very normal life. I have complete faith in Dr. Kahn’s ability and expertise in treating this deadly cancer and am grateful to him for the personal attention he has given me and, most importantly, the proper treatments he has prescribed.

After being passed around to several doctors I was finally referred to one who knew what he was talking about. Dr Kahn took charge immediately & knowledgeably diagnosed & began treatment within days. He personally called other drs who were required to be involved in getting my treatment started. I had my first infusion in his office 3 days after meeting him. Then was in the hospital receiving plasmapheresis the following Monday. Dr Kahn had to be personally involved with my insurance co in order for me to be admitted for that treatment. His initial manner is “no nonsense” but he is forthright with information, prognosis & plan of treatment. He answered any & all questions my husband & I had. When I wanted to postpone some treatment he let me realize I needed to proceed immediately. Happy to say I am well now. I attribute my wellness to Dr Kahn’s treatments. His office staff, nurses & PA Jodie went above & beyond in my treatment. They were compassionate, & knowledgeable.

Our family was introduced to Dr. Kahn in November of 2017 when our loved one, a 20 year Military Veteran and a pillar in the military community, was hospitalized. Subsequently and unfortunately, our family member was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and during his brief care Dr. Kahn displayed despicable, arrogant, condescending, and deplorable behavior. There was a severe lack of compassion and empathy, and his beside manners were obsolete. Dr. Kahn was not transparent about the severity of our family member’s cancer or care. He urged a treatment plan of chemotherapy for a patient, who unbeknown to the family, was in multi system organ failure upon admission-we lost our loved one days following the cancer diagnosis. If you’re considering Dr. Kahn as your Hematologist/Oncologist I STRONGLY implore you consider another physician who can better serve you and your family.

My husband was diagnosed with stomach cancer a yr. ago. Dr. Kahn showed up @ his bedside and explained passionately & professionally this is what you are dealing with, this is what we can do, do you want to go ahead with care? If it weren't for him aggressively taking charge & contacting the best Surgeon in the state of AZ. I don't believe my husband would be here today. I give him 5 stars because I rather have a Dr. who is passionate about his profession healing people then holding my hands.

Dr. Kahn became my oncologist in July 2017 when I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He wasted no time in referring me to an outstanding surgeon who two weeks later performed a gasterectomy. Then refered me to an excellent radiologist for treatments while I also received chemotherapy from Dr. Kahn. Some may dislike his matter of fact manner but when you are fighting for your life then go ahead be brusk but I find him professionnal and thorough. He gets right to the point without delay.

One day f the worst Doctors I have ever dealt with. No personality. No compassion for his patients. He kept pushing chemo even after all other Doctors said no. When my mom finally stopped chemo he didn’t even bother seeing her in the hospital. He is quack!!! Stay far away!! My mom died from the complications of chemo not the cancer.

I was actually present at that visit described below during the second opinion. The doctor advised that the diagnosis was correct and that treatment with chemo was not unreasonable given how severe labs were at the time, but you opted to want to observe. Glad she is doing well but you did not present all the facts.
