Impressed new patient
As a new patient, I was looking to find a new doctor who truly cares and takes the time to help his patients. Not there looking for a friend or a therapist, looking for someone who is thorough and knows what they are doing. He is first class in my book. Dr. Maldonado not only listened, but took quick action to refer me for further tests and helped diagnose what could have turned into a serious issue. The front office, specifically Roxy, was very friendly and accommodating when scheduling appointments. Highly recommend.

The most rude office I have ever been to
I saw this doc for roughly 2 years. Everything was cool for the first year or so but the past year has been awful. Everything is an argument and his nurse Roxy is the rudest nurse I have ever met. Nearly lost my job because they didn't want to fill out some simple paperwork for me. Doctor doesn't listen to your concerns, he just tells you to meditate, blames everything on your weight and shoves you out the door. I'd highly recommend looking elsewhere if you want a doctor that cares about you. He will do NOTHING to help you.

GO TO NORTH WEST MEDICAL INSTEAD.
I’m not sure the blame lies with Dr Maldonado. The issue is his staff. Particularly the front office woman and his aid Roxy. Roxy kind of sets the tone for the whole office and she is a singularly unpleasant person to talk with. The staff never answers the phone and doesn’t return calls so there is no way for you to get information from them. Even something as simple as “How do I get on my father’s medical release form”. In addition they are untruthful with Dr Maldonado ( the front office woman said I was yelling at her, but I had a recording of the conversation and Dr Maldonado agreed that I wasn’t) and hang up on the telephone with people (they hung up on my mother and me and neither instance were we being rude) We have since moved my father out of Franciscan health and have nothing but rave reviews for North West. Like Dr Maldonado literally said in his examining room and I quote “I’m not your partner, I’m not your buddy and I’m not your friend”…. And now your not our doctor

I have been a patient of Dr. Maldonado since 2019. I was in an accident and my Primary care Dr and every other primary care at University of Chicago wanted me to wait 3 weeks for an appointment when I was discharged from the Franciscan Hospital in Mich. City. Dr. Maldonado saw me the next day. I have never gone back to the U of C. I was a patient at U of C since the 1990's. He is one of the smartest Dr I have ever seen. He and another young ran a free respiratory clinic in the old hospital in Mich city just to help people. I could go on and on about his work ethic, Friendly atmosphere in his office. We are lucky to have him.

Looking for new Dr
I was referred to Dr Maldonado by an ER Dr after having an episode of temporarily loosing my hearing and vision and my body felt like pins and needles all over it. Been over a year and still have no idea what happened or why. Recently I had put on 40lbs in 2 weeks and made an emergency appointment with his np. All kinds of testing, no answer. He sent me to a specialist who did nothing but refer me back to him. A prescription he has me on went from a copay of $50 to $297. Called to see if I'll be alright without it and was accused of being drunk. I don't drink at all. I was told to quit wasting his time and call my insurance company. I'm really tired of him wasting my time and money and not getting any answers or results. He and Roxy need to learn to listen to their patients and quit making ridiculous accusations. If he can't ever give me a diagnosis for anything and can't be professional when talking to patients, maybe he needs to find another line of work.

Very rude and unprofessional! When Roxy put me on hold, he got on the phone and was very rude and would not let me get a word in before he placed me back on hold. Roxy picked back up saying she was unable to get me an appointment to see him. I told her not to bother and never mind. Obviously, the words "in a lot of pain" mean absolutely nothing to him! I will be finding another doctor!

My doctor was not available today, when I was very sick. I was given an appointment with Dr. Maldonado instead. He was very kind and helpful in explaining what to do to help with my illness. I was given an appointment the same day I called. I would recommend him highly.

Rude and impatient
Very rude and impatient with his patients. Has no empathy for his patients and what they are going through. Seems like you are a big inconvenience when its his literal job to help people. Never met a Dr like this before. Definitely not very 'Franciscan Christian Stewardship' of him You literally can never get ahold of any one in the staffing office and they never actually contact you back. I really DO NOT RECOMMEND him. You should find someone who will actually listen to

I love Dr Maldonado and his entire staff. They always fit me in same day or within the next few days. Reading some of the reviews, I’m not sure what some people are talking about. I’ve never had him or his staff be rude to me. Maybe the patient was rude or didn’t like what they heard. I don’t know, but I recommend that office to everyone.

He's a great provider. His nurse is great and super friendly. The building he is in is very confusing with multiple entrances. So pay attention, lol. I love this Dr. He replaced my PCP and you can tell he was trained properly by good providers. He listens to you and makes recomendations for your health. He always response to questions via MyChart and I like his staff. They are a very busy office, so be on time. I've never waiting more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. I can't say enough about this guy.

Rude, Doesn't listen and jumps to conclusions without letting me give all my symptoms, he had a very bad attitude, staff was rude as well.. Following his treatment to the letter and if anything I feel worse than I did when I started seeing him. I have a hernia and have asked to get a surgical referral for months to no avail..

Finding a new Doctor now – Jul 03, 2020
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Maldonado?
Doctor lacks empathy and courtesy I was referred to Dr. Maldonado by another physician‘s office who said she would arrange for me to be seen in the same day due to a serious medical issue I have. After waiting 45 minutes I told the secretary that I was unable to wait longer and was leaving because I needed to drive to see my child who is in the hospital. The secretary asked me to stay while she let the doctor know. She came back saying he would be out in two minutes. After 5 minutes I started gathering my things to leave and Dr Maldonado came into the waiting room with a rude, confrontational attitude and said, “I’m doing you a favor squeezing you in today. If you don’t like it you can leave!” Who in the world treats a very sick patient with a very serious reason for his time limitations like this? I chose to leave. Do not choose this young, rude, arrogant physician to take care of you when you are sick.
