Dr. David Malitz, MD

Mr. Malitz operated on both of my eyes for cataracts. The surgery only took a few minutes. I chose the lenses which corrected my vision both near and far. I love them. Now I can read the back of any medicine bottle or I can see the ocean miles away. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I went to Dr. Malitz for Clear Lens Exchange Nov 2024 because I was tired of wearing glasses. I would highly recommend him as he was professional, caring, informative, and extremely experienced. I did a lot of research on different surgeons in the Las Vegas area and Dr. Malitz was the best choice hands down! I am super happy with my results. An hour after my procedure, I could watch my TV without my glasses for the first time in years!!! I am so grateful to Dr. Malitz and his staff for taking such great care of me! As an operating room nurse, I have worked with many surgeons and I am highly impressed with Dr. Malitz, his staff, his many years of experience, professionalism, bedside manner, and technique. Dr. Malitz changed my life!! No more reaching for my glasses to watch TV, drive, etc, an no more wasting money every year getting eye exams and new glasses. I went to Dr. Malitz, as referred by fellow eye doctor, Megan Alberts(she was very concerned and informative) on behalf of my daughter. Our one and only visit with him was very unsatisfactory. Before we even saw him, he was in the next room speaking harshly to his staff, complete with profanity. I was hoping it wasn’t the same person but when he came in the room he apparently was still not in a good mood. He quickly examined my daughter’s eye and gave us our options. When we didn’t answer him right away, he left the room and left his nurse to deal with us. My daughter was in need of surgery to remove a sty and we were led to believe that Dr. Malitz would be doing it. We got all the pre op done and surgery date set. The day before the procedure Ohio Valley Eye Institute called and said the hospital couldn’t do it and we would have to be referred to another doctor... I just wished they were upfront and said they didn’t want to deal with us without going the long way around!

First, I was called back 50 minutes past my appointment time. From there it just spiraled out of control. It was unorganized chaos. I’m getting surgery only because my wife asked me to. My total appointment time was almost 2 hours, which I think is totally unacceptable. You know where this is going so I’ve said enough.

They sent me out with dialated pupils and I couldn’t see .. they did not offer me shades.

I never knew you could also get an eye exam with glasses here. It's not just for eye correction. This is the best place I have been to so far (based off of 20+ different eye care centers).
