The doctor did not listen. I felt manipulated.
I went to have a lump removed from my eyelid. Twice, I said that I was only there to have a lump removed but Dr. Murphy pressed on with a very thorough eye exam. He talked at length about Narrow angles how it predisposes one to an acute attack of glaucoma. He talked about lack of readily available eye care in the rural area I live in. He talked about laser peripheral iridotomy. He briefly mentioned cataracts. Dilation drops were placed in my eyes three different times. At the end of my visit he talked to me about the reason I was there, removal of the lump on my eyelid, I was already feeling creeped out and when he said he would not use anesthesia to excise the lump, I told him I thought that would hurt. He said most people thought the anesthesia shot was worse than removal without anesthesia. He said he would start the procedure and if I said it hurt too much, he would stop. That is when I left, with my lump intact. I recently had the lump removed by a different doctor.

Dr. Murphy recently did cataract surgery on both my eyes. I had been legally blind in my right eye since 1998, despite having a corneal transplant in 1999. When Dr. Murphy did my cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation, he restored my right eye's sight to 20/40 uncorrected. This is nothing short of a miracle. I would recommend Dr. Murphy to anyone. He is very professional and is also caring and kind. His staff is very, very well trained and efficient. If I call to ask a question, I always get a reply the same day.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This man wanted to do 4 procedures that would total to several thousand dollars on my 92 year old grandmother that were TOTALLY UNNECESSARY. We went to get a second opinion and the other Dr. ran several tests and said there was absolutely no reason to do those surgeries. This man was also INCREDIBLY RUDE at our appointment. Luckily we had such a bad feeling about him we went to someone else to get a second opinion. I would not recommend Dr. Murphy to anyone. Mak

Dr. Murphy and staff were outstanding while dealing with my son when he got a sliver of metal in his eye. We had taken him to two other physicians who were apprehensive about making an attempt to remove the objective. Dr. Murphy had him put to ease and was a to remove the metal without any issues. I would definitely recommend taking children to him for eye care issues, and I feel that he should be recognized as a great children's eye doctor. We will be returning to his clinic.

Office was dirty. Office staff was horrible. The eye center staff was rude and condescending. I will NEVER go back. Sad because I really liked the Dr.
