Dr. Oliver listens! He hears what you are saying before he draws a conclusion. His group always follows up on messages left on the answering machine. He makes me feel like I matter.

Dr. Oliver has only seen me a couple of times when I had an appointment with him, usually the nurse practitioner is who I see. I took a pretty bad fall in a parking lot recently, and Dr. Oliver refused to see me after the ER visit. I had no care, and I had to find my own orthopedic doctor because my elbow was dislocated and my left leg was hurting when I stood or walked. He let me down when I needed a doctor's care. I am in search of a new doctor that actually cares for their patients.

Outstanding Physician and Practice
Dr. Oliver is a very knowledgeable and personable physician. On my first visit, he made me feel welcome and valued as a patient. I appreciated the fact that he did not rush, but spent as much time as needed to answer my questions and get to know me. When I left, he gave me a printed summary of my visit to keep for my personal health record. In my opinion, this is something every doctor should do, but he is only the second one I have ever had, who did this.

American Family Medical
Dr. Oliver has been my primary physician for over 10 years. I trust his knowledge and care and never felt uncertain about anything he has ever advised or prescribed on any of my visits. I’ve rotated throughout his whole staff on occasions that I’ve been ill and felt that same security with each one of his fellow medical staff. They make a point of getting you in quickly if you you’re sick; no waiting days. That speaks volumes when you’re ill. I appreciate everything about him and his staff.

I saw Dr. Oliver as a new patient in early September. I thought he was pleasant and he answered all my questions. He ordered lab work and I had a follow-up appointment in October. On September 21 I received my lab work results via the patient portal. My blood counts were very low. It took several phone calls to get through to his nurse. I wanted to speak to Dr. Oliver but he would not come to the phone. My husband who is also a family doctor tried to reach him to speak to him. We were requesting additional lab work. As my counts were so low, we needed a peripheral smear and a reticulocyte count to determine if the cells were abnormal, which could be a bone marrow problem. Dr. Oliver refused. His office called me the next day and stated that Dr. Oliver no longer wanted to have me as a patient. They immediately deleted my patient portal access. Essentially, he fired me during a critical health scare. Stay away from this office!

Dr. Oliver is the most kind, compassionate physician that was my privilege to have had for many years. He prayed with me on my first visit. Never forgotten that. Due to insurance changes, I had to find another doctor. What a loss. Thank you Dr Oliver for caring for the whole person, body and soul.

The experiences that we have had with Dr. Oliver and all his staff for several years is exemplary. From the time one is involved with staff upon arrival, we feel warmly received, effectively led in our need at the time, and yes, even loved as a person. Again, Dr. Oliver receives us as patients (my husband and I), w/ openness, awareness of circumstances, acceptance of our own evaluation of what is happening in our situation since seeing him last, and addressing the current needs we have. His scope of knowledge and discovery is ongoing in his constant use of lab reports and status of his patients. As Octogenarians, we even have found comfort in the use of the portals; they are always current, and efficient in handling personal need. We love the fact of their Christian approach, and applaud their use of those principles in dealing with patients. Thank you for reading, Jacquelyn and Harold, Ocala, Florida

Dr. Oliver is a wonderful physician. I have been his patient for many years. My husband became his patient in 2016. He listens to you and respects your opinion. He is a Christian and that is very important to us. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a primary care physician.

Doctor Oliver is an excellent physician. He listens well and provides direction in a very caring manner. Recently due to a freak accident on a Sunday afternoon he returned my call on a Sunday, arranged an appointment with his associate for Monday and together they were able to schedule me for an MRI and an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon the same day. I so appreciate the efficiency of his staff and of his immediate attention to my needs. Thank you.

Dr. Oliver saved my life. In October, they had not seen me in a while so they called suggesting an annual exam. At that exam, I was fitted with a heart monitor. When the monitor was removed the next day, they said to call 911 if I had pain that night. About 5 pm, the pain started and I was taken by ambulance to the hospital. I had stage 3 heart block. I now have a pacemaker. The doctor's staff are always delightful and helpful. I owe them my life. They are wonderful.

Dr. Oliver is the BEST of the BEST!! He and all his staff are friendly and courteous and very knowledgeable. My husband and I consider them "family," and maybe that's the reason his practice is called American FAMILY Medical. We've been going to Dr. Oliver for six years now and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. I would give him (and his staff) 10 stars. Dr. Oliver and staff treat you as a human being/patient and not a dollar sign. Kudos and "Thank You" to Dr. Oliver and staff.

We have tried a couple of other doctors since moving to Ocala and my husband & I think Dr Oliver is the best. He is young enough to be there as we age, he seems to keep very current with new medical knowledge & he always makes you feel like you are the most important person at that moment. He takes all the time you need.
